Kantara Chapter One Box Office Dominance
Kantara Chapter One has already earned over ₹600 crore at the box office, surpassing the performance of all Indian films of 2025. Its collections are rapidly growing, and it is anticipated to overtake ‘Chhaava’ as this year’s highest-grossing film.
Release and Initial Box Office Trends
The adventure drama thriller Kantara Chapter One, directed by Rishab Shetty, was released on October 2, coinciding with Dussehra. While originally made in Kannada, the film saw a multi-language release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. It achieved a massive opening at the box office, receiving positive public reviews. This led to collections exceeding its budget within the first week itself. The film’s budget was ₹125 crore, and it had already surpassed the ₹600 crore mark. Its collections continue to increase rapidly, with expectations for it to run for two to three more weeks. The final box office collection is projected to potentially reach ₹1000 crore, especially due to the absence of major film releases in Hindi or South markets until Diwali. The film has been breaking records daily in both Hindi and South markets.
Kantara Chapter One Hindi Box Office Performance
After 12 days in cinemas, Kantara Chapter One recorded a Hindi net collection of ₹131.57 crore within its first 10 days. On its second Sunday, the 11th day, the Hindi version added ₹16.65 crore. For its 12th day, an estimated ₹5.25 crore is being earned in the Hindi version. This brings the total Hindi net collection for the first 12 days to ₹153.47 crore, officially crossing the ₹150 crore mark in the Hindi version. The Hindi gross collection stands at ₹183.78 crore, confirming Kantara Chapter One as a big blockbuster in the Hindi market. The film experienced a significant drop in morning show occupancy and lower bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows on its 12th day, which was a Monday, attributed to reduced ticket rates in Hindi and it being a working day.
Kantara Chapter One All-Language India & Worldwide Collections
Across all languages, Kantara Chapter One achieved an India net collection of ₹398.65 crore within its first 10 days. The film continued its strong performance on its second Sunday, the 11th day, with an India net collection of ₹42.34 crore across all languages. The 12th day, a Monday, is estimated to bring in approximately ₹1.50 crore in India net collection across all languages. This reflects a significant drop in occupancy in South languages, similar to the Hindi market. This pushes the total India net collection for the first 12 days to ₹457.49 crore, surpassing the ₹450 crore milestone. The India gross collection has reached ₹547.84 crore. Additionally, the film’s overseas gross collection has been rapidly increasing, reaching ₹93.37 crore. Combining these figures, Kantara Chapter One’s worldwide collection for the first 12 days stands at ₹641.21 crore.
Box Office Verdict: A Big Blockbuster
With a budget of just ₹125 crore, Kantara Chapter One has earned over ₹641 crore worldwide, establishing it as a big blockbuster at the box office. The film has the potential to continue its box office run, with possibilities of reaching ₹800-850 crore or even joining the ₹1000 crore club.
