Stree 2 Box Office: Crossing Milestones and Records

The horror-comedy film Stree 2 has surpassed the lifetime box office collection of KGF Chapter 2 and continues its strong performance. The film is currently in its third week of release, having completed two successful weeks in cinemas. With no new Bollywood releases this week, Stree 2 is expected to maintain its excellent earnings, potentially crossing the ₹450 crore mark in India net collection within a few days. The film’s worldwide box office collection has already exceeded ₹500 crore and is on track to potentially cross the lifetime collections of Gadar 2, Animal, Pathaan, and Jawan. An India net collection of ₹500 crore is also anticipated in the near future.

Stree 2’s India net collection for the initial 13 days stood at ₹434 crore 10 lakh. On its 14th day, the film collected ₹9 crore 3 lakh. For its 15th day, Stree 2 garnered an India net collection of ₹8 crore 50 lakh, despite a 12-13% drop in occupancy compared to the previous day. This brings the film’s total India net collection over 15 days to ₹453 crore 63 lakh, notably surpassing KGF’s Hindi net lifetime collection of ₹434 crore. The India gross collection for Stree 2 reached ₹535 crore 30 lakh. In the overseas market, the film has achieved more than ₹100 crore. Cumulatively, Stree 2’s total worldwide box office collection for the first 15 days is ₹636 crore 60 lakh. Collections are expected to rise again over the upcoming weekend, with projections indicating the film could cross the ₹700 crore worldwide box office mark in the next three to four days.

Khel Khel Mein Box Office Performance: 15-Day Collections

Akshay Kumar’s comedy-drama film Khel Khel Mein, which was released on August 15th, has completed 15 days in some cinemas. Produced on a budget of ₹120 crore, the film did not achieve a large opening or a particularly strong first-week collection. However, positive reviews led to the movie maintaining a decent hold during its second weekend and second week. Despite having a limited number of screens and shows, the film has made a decent earning at the box office.

The film’s India net collection for the first 13 days was ₹28 crore 37 lakh. On its 14th day, the collection dropped below ₹1 crore, settling at ₹85 lakh. The 15th day saw Khel Khel Mein collect ₹70 lakh, with occupancy further declining compared to the previous day. This results in a total India net collection of ₹29 crore 92 lakh over 15 days. The India gross collection stands at ₹35 crore 60 lakh. Globally, Khel Khel Mein’s worldwide box office collection for the first 15 days is ₹45 crore 30 lakh.

Surya Saturday Box Office: Bumper First Day Worldwide Opening

Nani’s pan-India film Surya Saturday, also known as Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, had a strong buzz leading up to its release, particularly after its trailer was well-received by audiences. This translated into an excellent response during advance bookings, positioning it as one of Nani’s biggest opener films. The film, primarily a Telugu production, was released in approximately four to five languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, across roughly 2500 screens worldwide. Maximum collections are noted from the Telugu states, followed by Tamil, with decent contributions from Kannada and Malayalam. Promotion for the Hindi market was minimal, resulting in very few shows, possibly less than 50 screens, in that region.

The total budget for Surya Saturday, including promotions, is ₹90 crore. Pre-release, the film made significant recoveries: digital rights for all five languages were sold to Netflix for ₹45 crore, satellite rights for South Indian languages fetched ₹22 crore, and music rights brought in ₹6 crore. This amounted to a pre-release recovery of ₹73 crore. Hindi satellite rights have not yet been sold.

On its first day, Surya Saturday received an explosive occupancy in the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), with morning shows registering 65% to 70% occupancy in most theaters. Afternoon, evening, and night show bookings were also solid. In Tamil Nadu, morning shows recorded an occupancy between 25% and 30%. The film’s first-day all-India net collection is ₹14 crore 50 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹16 crore 60 lakh. From the overseas market, including premieres and the first day, the film collected approximately ₹6.5 crore. This culminates in a total first-day worldwide box office collection of ₹22 crore 16 lakh, marking a substantial opening for the film given its budget.

The GOAT (The Greatest Of All Time) Advance Booking Report

Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film, The GOAT (The Greatest Of All Time), is scheduled for release on September 5th. Overseas advance bookings for the film began much earlier and have received an excellent response. Advance bookings in India are set to commence in two days, with expectations for record-breaking collections once they open. While overseas earnings have been significant, The GOAT’s current advance booking collection is approximately half of what Thalapathy Vijay’s previous film, Leo, had achieved eight days prior to its release. However, it is hoped that The GOAT’s advance bookings will reach Leo’s level as the release date approaches.

The film has garnered substantial advance booking collections from the overseas market. In the USA, The GOAT has collected ₹2 crore 71 lakh in advance bookings. From the UK and Ireland, the collection stands at ₹2 crore 38 lakh, while Australia contributed ₹1 crore 17 lakh. The rest of the overseas market accounts for ₹6 crore 42 lakh. This totals The GOAT’s weekend worldwide advance booking collection to ₹12 crore 68 lakh. Furthermore, the premiere plus first-day advance booking collection has reached ₹8 crore 51 lakh. The film is anticipated to secure an opening day box office collection of at least ₹100 crore upon its release.
