Mirai Box Office Collection: Initial Impact and Two-Day Performance
The film Mirai has impacted the box office immediately upon its release. Its first-day collections set records, and strong reviews contributed to a stellar second day of earnings.
Mirai, originally made in Telugu, was released across multiple languages including Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali. The film secured a strong opening in the Hindi market and dominated in South Indian languages on its first day. Morning shows saw excellent occupancy, leading to an increase in showtimes and screens throughout the first day in both Hindi and South Indian languages.
Unlike many South Indian films that typically see a drop in earnings on the second day, Mirai’s collections surpassed its already impressive first-day figures on its second day.
On its first day, Mirai achieved an India net collection of ₹12 crore 68 lakh across all languages, marking one of the biggest openings for its lead actor’s career.
For the second day, morning shows in the Hindi version saw significant growth in occupancy, while the Telugu version maintained its first-day level. Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions did not show significant growth. Afternoon, evening, and night show bookings also advanced in the Hindi market, with Telugu bookings remaining consistent with the previous day.
Mirai is estimated to have collected approximately ₹13 crore 10 lakh in India net across all languages on its second day. This brings the film’s total all-India net collection for the initial two days to ₹25 crore 8 lakh. The India gross collection stands at ₹31 crore 5 lakh.
Internationally, Mirai has also performed strongly, with an overseas gross collection of ₹9 crore 68 lakh. This results in a total worldwide collection of ₹40 crore 73 lakh for Mirai in its first two days.
With a budget of ₹60 crore, Mirai has already earned over ₹40 crore worldwide in two days. Projections suggest that the film’s box office collection could exceed its budget within the first three-day weekend. The film is also predicted to achieve a lifetime box office collection of around ₹200 to ₹250 crore across all languages.
Kishkindapuri Box Office: Two-Day India and Worldwide Collections
The horror thriller film Kishkindapuri, a Telugu film released in a single language, received excellent reviews and is being described as one of the finest Telugu films of the year. It saw a strong opening on its first day and maintained a good hold on the second day.
Kishkindapuri recorded an India net collection of ₹4 crore 11 lakh on its first day. Despite the release of Mirai, which impacted screen allocation and per-day shows, the first-day collection was commendable.
Unlike the common trend for South Indian films to drop significantly on their second day, Kishkindapuri started its second day strongly due to positive reviews and good word-of-mouth. Morning show occupancy saw a slight drop of only 12-15% compared to the previous day, with only a small decline in afternoon, evening, and night show bookings.
The film is estimated to earn approximately ₹1 crore 50 lakh in India net on its second day. This brings Kishkindapuri’s total India net collection for the first two days to ₹5 crore 61 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹6 crore 73 lakh.
Its overseas gross collection is ₹1 crore 58 lakh. The total worldwide collection for Kishkindapuri over its first two days stands at ₹8 crore 31 lakh.
With a budget of ₹30 crore and released across 1400 screens worldwide, the film’s two-day earnings are considered decent. Expectations are high for a significant jump in collections on the upcoming Sunday, and the film is anticipated to earn significantly more than its budget, becoming a superhit.
Demon Slayer India Box Office: Strong Two-Day Performance
The Japanese anime film Demon Slayer surprised with its strong first-day earnings at the Indian box office. Released in India in five languages—Japanese, Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu—the film received a tremendous response across all versions.
The Japanese original language version recorded the highest occupancy, contributing significantly to its collections in India. The film performed well on its first day, and its second-day collections remained impressive.
Released across approximately 1700 screens in India, Demon Slayer achieved an India net collection of ₹14 crore 53 lakh from all languages on its first day.
On the second day, morning show occupancy saw a considerable drop compared to the previous day, with a slight decline in afternoon, evening, and night show bookings. Despite this, Demon Slayer is estimated to collect approximately ₹11 crore 20 lakh in India net on its second day.
This brings Demon Slayer’s total India net collection for the initial two days to ₹25 crore 73 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹30 crore 87 lakh. Its two-day India gross collection exceeding ₹30 crore is considered a strong performance.
The Indian theatrical rights for Demon Slayer were sold for ₹45 crore, and the film needs to earn ₹70 to ₹80 crore at the Indian box office to be declared a hit. A significant rise in collections is expected on Sunday.
Baaghi 4 Box Office: Nine-Day Worldwide Total
The Bollywood action thriller Baaghi 4 recorded strong earnings in its first week. However, upon entering its second week, new releases from Bollywood, South India, and Hollywood led to a reduction in its screens, causing collections to decline.
With a total budget of ₹80 crore, Baaghi 4 has been in cinemas for 9 days and has already surpassed its budget in worldwide earnings.
In its first week (7 days), Baaghi 4 garnered an India net collection of ₹53 crore 74 lakh. On its eighth day (second Friday), despite fewer shows and screens, the film managed a decent collection of ₹1 crore 58 lakh in the Indian market.
On its ninth day (Saturday), morning show occupancy was slightly better than the previous day, with minor growth in afternoon, evening, and night show bookings. Baaghi 4 is estimated to collect ₹1 crore 90 lakh in India net on its ninth day.
This brings Baaghi 4’s total India net collection for the first nine days to ₹57 crore 22 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹68 crore 65 lakh.
The film’s worldwide box office collection after nine days stands at ₹80 crore 7 lakh, indicating that it has equaled its budget within this period. A substantial increase in collections is anticipated on Sunday.
