War 2 Box Office Performance: 19-Day Worldwide Collections
The film War 2, from the YRF Universe, was released with high expectations, with predictions of it easily crossing ₹800 crore worldwide and breaking multiple box office records. Upon release, the film received a fantastic opening on its first day. However, its collections saw a day-by-day decline thereafter. While the first week’s collections were considered decent, the film experienced a significant drop in its second week at the box office. With the release of Param Sundari in its third week, War 2’s screen count was substantially reduced.
War 2 was produced with a budget of ₹400 crore and released globally in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. After 19 days in cinemas, its worldwide collections stand below its budget. The film garnered ₹183 crore 14 lakh in India net collections from the Hindi market. Despite the presence of Junior NTR, War 2’s collections in the Telugu states were not as high as anticipated, achieving ₹65 crore 27 lakh in India net. The Tamil version secured fewer screens due to the release of Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie,’ resulting in a lower India net collection of ₹2 crore 96 lakh from Tamil.
Combining all three languages, War 2 has achieved an India net collection of ₹251 crore 37 lakh, leading to an India gross collection of ₹304 crore 21 lakh. Overseas, the film’s collection was not as robust, with an overseas gross collection of ₹79 crore 56 lakh. Cumulatively, War 2’s worldwide box office collection after 19 days stands at ₹383 crore 77 lakh.
Coolie Box Office Success: 19-Day Worldwide Collections
Directed by Lokesh Kankaraj, the action-thriller film Coolie premiered on August 14th and is now in its third week in cinemas, completing 19 days. Primarily a Tamil film, Coolie was also released in Kannada, Hindi, and Telugu, totaling four languages. The filmmakers had strong confidence in its performance across different regions, anticipating record-breaking earnings in Tamil Nadu due to Rajinikanth, strong collections in Telugu due to Nagarjuna, good Hindi collections from an Aamir Khan cameo, and robust earnings in Kannada because of Upendra, along with a significant collection in Kerala featuring Sobin Sahir.
Coolie achieved a global opening day collection of over ₹150 crore. Subsequently, its collections decreased gradually, though not as sharply as War 2. The film has already surpassed its budget at the box office. With a budget of ₹375 crore, Coolie has demonstrated a strong performance.
After 19 days, Coolie’s detailed worldwide collections are as follows: In its main market, Tamil Nadu, the film grossed ₹151 crore 20 lakh. The Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) contributed ₹70 crore 35 lakh in gross collections. Karnataka saw a gross collection of ₹43 crore 65 lakh, while Kerala’s gross collection was ₹27 crore 50 lakh. In North India, including both Hindi dubbed and Tamil versions, the film garnered a decent gross collection of ₹52 crore 34 lakh. This brings Coolie’s total All India gross collection to ₹345 crore 4 lakh. Globally, Coolie has achieved a worldwide collection of ₹522 crore 10 lakh. The film has been deemed a hit in some states, a blockbuster in others, and an average performer in certain regions, ultimately establishing itself as a successful movie at the box office.
Param Sundari Box Office Report: 4-Day Collection Breakdown
Param Sundari, a romantic comedy-drama starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan, was released this week. With a budget of ₹70 crore, the film premiered on 3000 screens worldwide. The film’s trailer and super hit music generated high expectations for a strong box office opening, which it met with excellent first-day collections. Earnings remained better on the second day, and the film saw tremendous collections on Sunday, its third day. Despite being a Monday, the film maintained a decent hold on its fourth day, suggesting it could have a long run at the box office with potentially very good final collections.
In its first two days, Param Sundari accumulated an India net collection of ₹17 crore 44 lakh. On Sunday, its third day, the film collected over ₹11 crore in the Indian net market. For its fourth day (Monday), the morning shows maintained 50% of the occupancy compared to the first day. Afternoon, evening, and night show bookings saw a 40 to 45% drop compared to the first day, despite reduced ticket rates. Preliminary reports indicate Param Sundari is collecting ₹4 crore 25 lakh in India net on its fourth day.
This brings Param Sundari’s total India net collection over its initial four days to ₹32 crore 72 lakh. The India gross collection for the same period stands at ₹39 crore 26 lakh. Overseas collections also performed well, especially with a significant spark on the third day, leading to an overseas gross collection of ₹12 crore 48 lakh. As a result, Param Sundari’s worldwide collection for its first four days has reached ₹51 crore 74 lakh, surpassing the ₹50 crore mark globally. If current trends continue, the film is expected to cross the ₹100 crore milestone in the coming days. The film faces competition next Friday with the release of new Bollywood films, including Baaghi 4 and Bengal Files.
