Deadpool & Wolverine’s Strong Indian Performance
The Hollywood movie Deadpool & Wolverine has completed 15 days at the box office. Initially released on 3000 screens in India across Hindi, English, and South languages in its first week, the film’s screen count was reduced to 2000 in the second week due to another movie’s release. Despite this, the film earned more than Ajay Devgan’s movie in its second week. Currently, in its third week, Deadpool & Wolverine continues to run on a good number of screens at the Indian box office.
Looking at its 15-day total Indian box office collection, the movie recorded a net collection of ₹92 crore 43 lakh from India in its first week. It followed this with a second-week collection of ₹26 crore 86 lakh. On its 15th day today, the movie is collecting approximately ₹1 crore 75 lakh in India. The updated worldwide box office collection report for the film is pending; the last reported worldwide collection was approximately ₹8160 crore.
Raayan Becomes Dhanush’s Highest Grosser
Dhanush’s action-packed film Raayan, made on a budget of ₹90 crore, has completed 15 days since its worldwide release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The movie has already become the highest-grossing film of Dhanush’s career and, by its strong performance into the third week, is expected to earn the tag of one of Tamil cinema’s biggest blockbusters. The film continues to show excellent collections in the Tamil Nadu state.
Examining Raayan’s 15-day total box office collection, the film garnered an India net collection of ₹67 crore 22 lakh in its first week. In the second week, it earned ₹21 crore 84 lakh. On its 15th day today, Raayan is collecting approximately ₹1 crore 50 lakh from the Indian market. This takes Raayan’s all-India net collection to ₹90 crore 56 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹107 crore 71 lakh. The film’s total worldwide box office collection has reached ₹146 crore. It is projected to cross the ₹150 crore mark worldwide in the next one to two days. Raayan has already been declared a Super Duper Hit at the box office.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha: A Box Office Disaster
Ajay Devgan’s film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has begun its second week in cinemas. The film reportedly faltered at the box office within its first week. Based on its second-week opening, it is anticipated that the film’s final collection will not even reach 20% of its ₹110 crore budget. The movie is already considered a major disaster.
For its eight-day total worldwide box office collection, the film achieved an India net collection of ₹10 crore 2 lakh in its first seven days. On its eighth day today, the film is collecting approximately ₹80 lakh. This results in an eight-day India net collection of ₹11 crore 82 lakh and an India gross collection of ₹13 crore 10 lakh. From overseas markets, the film has generated a total of ₹3 crore 71 lakh. Consequently, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’s eight-day worldwide box office collection stands at ₹16 crore 81 lakh. Relative to its budget, this film has become one of the biggest disasters of Ajay Devgan’s career.
Vedaa Pre-Release Box Office Outlook
John Abraham’s action film Vedaa is set to release on August 15. The film’s trailer garnered significant support, leading to increased box office expectations. Vedaa will face competition from Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2, which are also releasing on August 15. The film’s runtime has been revealed as 2 hours and 31 minutes. This duration is expected to help Vedaa secure a good number of shows and screens amidst the competition. On its opening day, the film is projected to achieve an easy opening of ₹5-6 crore at the Indian box office. Should the film receive positive reception, it could potentially collect ₹100 crore.
Khel Khel Mein: Akshay Kumar’s Comeback Potential
The comedy-drama film Khel Khel Mein, starring Akshay Kumar, is also slated for release on August 15. The trailer and songs of the film have been well-received, leading to expectations of a strong box office comeback for Akshay Kumar. The film’s length has been revealed to be just 2 hours and 14 minutes. This shorter runtime is expected to secure more screens and shows for the film upon its release. If the film is good, it has the potential to become a big hit for Akshay Kumar. Based on current buzz, Khel Khel Mein could open with ₹8-10 crore at the box office on its first day. If audiences like the film, it might go on to collect ₹150 crore.
The GOAT’s Strong Hindi Market Prospects
Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated film, The Greatest Of All Time (The GOAT), is scheduled for a September release, with four weeks still remaining. The film has already commenced limited overseas advance bookings, which are reportedly receiving a strong response, indicating its potential to be another major blockbuster for Vijay’s career. Notably, there are positive developments for Vijay’s North Indian fanbase.
Unlike his previous three films—Varisu, Leo, and Master—which were released in Hindi dubbed versions without dedicated promotion or screenings in major multiplex chains (PVR, INOX, Cinepolis), The GOAT is poised for a significant Hindi market presence. Those earlier films saw decent, though somewhat lower-than-expected, Hindi collections due to the lack of promotion and multiplex releases. For The GOAT, Zee Studios has acquired the Hindi theatrical rights for North India. Given Zee Studios’ strong track record in film promotion, it is confirmed that with robust Hindi promotion, The GOAT’s Hindi version could easily secure an opening day collection of ₹6-7 crore in India. The film is expected to be released on 2000-3000 screens in the Hindi market, ensuring a strong opening. Globally, the film’s first-day collection could reach up to ₹50 crore. Currently, The GOAT has accumulated approximately ₹80 lakh in overseas advance bookings, which is a promising figure with four weeks still to go before its release.
