Dhanush’s action film Raayan, released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, had a budget of 90 crore. The film saw fantastic earnings in its first week. Deadpool & Wolverine Dominates Indian Box Office and Global Market
The Hollywood film Deadpool & Wolverine has been generating excellent earnings worldwide. In the Indian market, despite facing competition from several major films, the movie continued its strong performance. While its first week in India saw less significant competition, the second week introduced many new films, leading to a reduction in its screens. However, Deadpool & Wolverine achieved historic collections at the Indian box office during its second weekend, outperforming other newly released films in the Indian market during its second week.
The film’s first-week India net collection was 92 crore 43 lakh. On its eighth day, it earned 4 crore 52 lakh. On the ninth day, a Saturday, the film saw significant growth in occupancy compared to the previous day, collecting an India net collection of 5 crore 20 lakh. Aur Mein Kahaan Dum Tha: Shocking Box Office Opening
Ajay Devgan’s film Aur Mein Kahaan Dum Tha, directed by Neeraj Pandey, was made on a budget exceeding 100 crore. The romantic drama delivered a completely shocking opening at the box office. Its collection for the first and second days was the lowest compared to any Ajay Devgan film released in the past 10-12 years. Initially, there was an expectation that if the film received good reviews, it might improve its box office performance in the coming days. However, the film received mixed to negative responses from both critics and the public.
On its first day, the India net collection was only 2 crore 10 lakh, which was unexpectedly low. This opening was even lower than Akshay Kumar’s film Sarphira, which had the lowest opening for a mainstream hero this year. Despite it being a Saturday, the film did not see the expected growth on its second day due to negative reviews. There was only a slight jump in collections during the morning, afternoon, and evening shows. Aur Mein Kahaan Dum Tha’s second-day India net collection was approximately 2 crore 50 lakh. This brings the film’s two-day India net collection to 4 crore 60 lakh, with an India gross collection of 5 crore 47 lakh. The film also performed poorly in the overseas market, earning only 1 crore 96 lakh. Consequently, the two-day worldwide box office collection for Aur Mein Kahaan Dum Tha was just 7 crore 33 lakh.
Kalki 38-Day Box Office: A Global Blockbuster Run
Prabhas’s film Kalki, released on June 27th in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, has completed 38 days at the box office and is currently in its sixth week. Remarkably, the film continues to generate collections from its Hindi and Telugu versions. Collections from the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages are now almost negligible. The film’s strong performance in Hindi and Telugu suggests it will continue to earn in the Hindi market until the release of films like Stree, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedha 2 on August 15th.
Kalki’s 38-day collection in the Hindi version has been outstanding, and its overall collection across South Indian languages and the worldwide market is record-breaking. The film’s initial five-week Hindi net collection was 291 crore 10 lakh. On the 37th day, which was the sixth Friday, it earned 25 lakh from the Hindi market. On the 38th day, a Saturday, the film saw a slight growth in its Hindi collections, earning approximately 1 crore 30 lakh. This brings Kalki’s cumulative Hindi net collection to 293 crore 25 lakh, with a Hindi gross collection of 349 crore 12 lakh.
From South Indian languages, the film has amassed a total gross collection of 523 crore 48 lakh. This puts Kalki’s 38-day all-India gross collection across all languages at 872 crore 66 lakh. In the overseas market, the film has collected 277 crore 40 lakh. Kalki’s total worldwide box office collection for 38 days has reached 1150 crore.
