Salaar Box Office Collection: Worldwide 2nd Day Earnings & Full Movie Review

Salaar Dominates Box Office in First Three Days

Pan India superstar Prabhas’s film Salaar has broken all box office records in India within its initial three days. The film saw strong earnings on its first day, followed by significant jumps in collections on the second and third days. Salaar has already surpassed its budget in earnings within three days. It marks a solid comeback for Prabhas at the box office, proving to be his biggest blockbuster after Baahubali 2. The first day’s collections for Salaar were higher than all Indian films released in 2023.

Salaar’s Initial Day-Wise India Collections

Salaar was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. On its opening day, the film achieved a worldwide gross collection of over ₹178 crore. For India net collections, Salaar earned ₹18 crore from the Hindi market on its first day, contributing to an all-India net collection of ₹107 crore.

On the second day, Salaar saw a substantial increase in its Hindi collections, reaching approximately ₹23 crore in net earnings. However, the South language collections experienced a slight drop, bringing the second day’s all-India net collection to ₹91 crore.

The third day, being a Sunday, brought a bumper increase in collections across all languages, including Hindi. Hindi net collections for the third day reached approximately ₹26 crore, performing better than the first and second days. The all-India net collection on the third day was ₹80 crore.

Salaar’s Total Box Office Milestones in 3 Days

Within its first three days, Salaar‘s cumulative Hindi net collection stands at ₹67 crore. The all-India net collection for the same period reached ₹258 crore, crossing the ₹250 crore mark. In terms of gross collections, Salaar‘s all-India gross collection in three days is ₹307 crore, surpassing the ₹300 crore mark within India. From the overseas market, the film has garnered ₹102 crore. This brings Salaar‘s total worldwide gross collection to ₹409 crore in just three days. Projections indicate that the film is expected to earn over ₹100 crore worldwide on Christmas (the fourth day), potentially pushing its four-day worldwide collection past the ₹500 crore mark. Future estimates suggest Salaar could achieve a lifetime worldwide collection exceeding ₹1000 crore, possibly ranging from ₹1200 crore to ₹1500 crore.

Dunki’s Four-Day Box Office Performance

Bollywood film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal, faced significant competition from Salaar. Dunki was released exclusively in Hindi.

The film’s day-wise all-India net collections are as follows:

  • Day 1: ₹29 crore 20 lakh
  • Day 2: ₹22 crore 50 lakh (a drop in collections)
  • Day 3 (Saturday): ₹28 crore 50 lakh (a notable jump)
  • Day 4 (estimated): ₹35 crore (morning occupancy was higher than the first day, with solid bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows).

With these figures, Dunki‘s total all-India net collection after four days reached ₹115 crore 20 lakh. The film’s all-India gross collection for four days is ₹137 crore. Dunki also collected ₹76 crore from the overseas market within four days. Consequently, the film’s total worldwide gross collection after four days stands at ₹213 crore, having crossed the ₹200 crore mark globally.

Box Office Comparison: Salaar vs. Dunki

Despite Dunki being released on significantly more screens worldwide compared to Salaar, Salaar has demonstrated superior box office performance. Salaar‘s three-day collections are more than double Dunki‘s four-day collections. For instance, Dunki‘s four-day collection is less than half of Salaar‘s three-day collection. Dunki‘s collections were also less than 50% when compared to Shah Rukh Khan’s previous films of the year, Jawan and Pathaan.
