Adipurush achieved a record-breaking opening, demonstrating a strong performance at the box office. The film’s advance booking received a tremendous response, breaking all records set by Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan, released this year. Adipurush also broke Pathaan’s first-day record.
Adipurush Financial Performance: Budget and Pre-Release Earnings
The film Adipurush was initially made with a budget of 450 crore. An additional 100 crore was spent on VFX, bringing the total budget to 550 crore. Before its theatrical release, the producers had already recovered the film’s budget through various rights. The digital rights for all five languages were sold for 250 crore. Satellite rights across all languages fetched 165 crore, and music rights for all five languages were valued at 35 crore. Additionally, the worldwide theatrical rights were sold for 242 crore. In total, the filmmakers recovered 690 crore from digital, satellite, music, and worldwide theatrical rights. With a budget of 550 crore, the filmmakers had already earned a profit of 140 crore before the film was released in cinemas.

On its first day, Adipurush delivered a powerful performance in the Hindi market, with morning shows reported as housefull in many major cities. The film received an even stronger response in the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Adipurush also performed well in Karnataka and had a decent run in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
