Animal Film Box Office Performance
Ranbir Kapoor’s film, Animal, created a stir at the box office with record-breaking earnings on its first day. The film, released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages across approximately 6500 screens worldwide, has made a historic collection on its debut. Animal’s first-day India Net Collection across all languages is approximately 60 crore, while its India Gross Collection stands at 71 crore. Globally, Animal recorded a first-day worldwide collection of 116 crore. This places Animal as one of the biggest opening films of the year, following Leo and Jawan, and it surpassed the first-day collections of Tiger 3 and Gadar 2.
Tiger 3 First Day and Total Collections
Mega star Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, released on Diwali, hit screens worldwide across approximately 9000 screens in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. On its first day, Tiger 3 garnered an India Net Collection of 44 crore 50 lakh from all three languages. The film’s first-day India Gross Collection was 52 crore 50 lakh, and its worldwide first-day collection reached 94 crore. However, the film’s collections subsequently decreased day by day, and it has accumulated a total worldwide earning of approximately 460 crore to date.
Leo’s Blockbuster Opening and Final Earnings
Thalapathy Vijay’s film Leo, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, across approximately 6000 screens worldwide. Leo achieved one of the biggest openings of 2023 and for Thalapathy Vijay’s career. On its first day, Leo secured an All India Net Collection of approximately 65 crore across all languages. The film’s first-day India Gross Collection was 76 crore 20 lakh, with a first-day worldwide collection of 148 crore 50 lakh, indicating a bumper opening. Leo proved to be a blockbuster at the box office, with its final collection exceeding 650 crore.
Jawan’s All-Time Blockbuster Worldwide Collections
Bollywood’s Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, directed by Tamil director Atlee Kumar, was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages across approximately 8000 screens worldwide. Jawan managed to achieve an even bigger opening than Shah Rukh Khan’s previous 2023 blockbuster, Pathaan. On its first day, Jawan collected 65 crore 50 lakh from its Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions. The film’s first-day worldwide collection stood at 129 crore 60 lakh. Jawan was an all-time blockbuster at the box office, earning more than 1100 crore worldwide.
Gadar 2’s Tremendous Single-Language Performance
Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma, holds a unique position as the only film among these to be released solely in a single language, Hindi. Despite this, the film received immense public support and achieved a tremendous opening. Gadar 2, released on approximately 3000 to 4000 screens worldwide, recorded a first-day India Net Collection of 41 crore. Its first-day India Gross Collection was 48 crore, and the first-day worldwide collection was approximately 55 crore. With a budget of only 60 crore, Gadar 2 remarkably earned close to its budget on the very first day, and its lifetime collection soared to more than 10 times its budget.
