Thamudu Box Office: First Day Collections and Pre-Release Recovery
Nithiin’s South Indian action drama film Thamudu, directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju, was released on 1200 screens worldwide in a single language, Telugu. The film’s budget is ₹35 crore. Prior to its release, Thamudu achieved a pre-release recovery of ₹30 crore. This recovery includes ₹8 crore from satellite rights, ₹13 crore from digital rights, ₹6 crore from Hindi dubbing rights, and ₹3 crore from music rights.
Despite a decent response in advance bookings, the film saw a slow start at the box office. On its first day, Thamudu registered an India net collection of ₹2 crore 60 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹3 crore 12 lakh. The overseas market contributed approximately ₹1 crore 25 lakh. This brings Thamudu‘s first day worldwide box office collection to ₹4 crore 37 lakh.
Metro In Dino Box Office: Day 1 Earnings and Budget Recovery
The romantic drama Metro In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan among others, had a worldwide release across 2300 screens. This includes 2000 screens in India and 300 screens overseas. The film carries a budget of ₹100 crore. Before its release, Metro In Dino recovered ₹70 crore through the sale of digital rights to Netflix for ₹40 crore, satellite rights for ₹18 crore, and music rights for ₹12 crore. To fully recover its budget, the film aims for a worldwide gross collection of at least ₹70 to ₹80 crore.
While the first part of the film, Metro, was a significant box office success, Metro In Dino received a lukewarm response in its advance bookings. On its opening day, the film garnered an India net collection of ₹4 crore 25 lakh, leading to an India gross collection of ₹5 crore 7 lakh. Overseas collections for the first day are estimated at ₹2 crore 25 lakh. Thus, Metro In Dino‘s first day worldwide box office collection falls in the range of ₹7 crore 32 lakh.
Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office: 15-Day Worldwide Collection Report
Aamir Khan’s comedy-drama sports film Sitaare Zameen Par, produced by Aamir Khan and directed by R.S. Prasanna, completed two weeks in cinemas and has now entered its third week. Released on June 20 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the film was produced with a budget of ₹80 crore.
Sitaare Zameen Par accumulated an India net collection of ₹132 crore 51 lakh across all three languages during its initial 13 days. On its 14th day, the film added ₹2 crore 63 lakh to its Indian box office total. The 15th day saw a collection of ₹1 crore 50 lakh on the Indian box office, a figure impacted by a reduction in screen count during its third week due to new releases. The total India net collection for Sitaare Zameen Par over 15 days stands at ₹136 crore 64 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹162 crore 58 lakh. Globally, the film has achieved a 15-day worldwide box office collection of ₹215 crore 90 lakh.
