Housefull 5 Outperforms Thug Life in Box Office Clash
Housefull Five has significantly outperformed Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life. Thug Life, a pan-India film, was released a day before Housefull Five. While Thug Life collected a certain amount in 7 days, Housefull Five achieved double that collection in just 6 days. Housefull Five, released exclusively in Hindi, collected almost double the earnings of Thug Life (released in four to five languages) within 6 days compared to Thug Life‘s 7-day collections, despite both films having similar budgets.
Thug Life’s Seven-Day Worldwide Box Office Performance
Directed by Mani Ratnam, Thug Life was released on June 5th in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam across a total of four languages. The film’s budget is ₹200 crore. The estimated collection for the seventh day is ₹1 crore 50 lakh from all languages across India, due to a significant drop in occupancy.
The total India net collection for Thug Life after 7 days stands at ₹45 crore 68 lakh. Its India gross collection reached ₹54 crore 36 lakh. The overseas gross collection for the film was ₹41 crore 22 lakh. Consequently, Thug Life managed to earn only ₹95 crore 58 lakh worldwide in 7 days, proving to be a major box office disaster. The film did not even earn half of its budget within one week.
