Superstar Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 has shown relentless earnings, achieving record-breaking collections in just three days. The film took a massive opening on its release day, with collections increasing even further on the second day. The third day, being a Sunday, saw the film’s earnings surge significantly. The film’s performance marks a comeback for Akshay Kumar, with Housefull 5 earnings set to become one of his career’s highest. Having been in cinemas for three days, the movie has already amassed substantial earnings and is anticipated to continue strong collections for another two to four weeks. Its final earnings might even double its budget, which stands at ₹225 crore.
Housefull 5: Day-Wise India Net Collections
Housefull 5 secured a fantastic start at the box office. The first day’s India net collection was ₹24 crore 35 lakh. This opening ranks as the third biggest opening for Bollywood in 2025. The film surpassed expectations on its second day, where it was initially thought to earn around ₹27-28 crore. Instead, the second day’s India net collection exceeded ₹31 crore. On the third day (Sunday), Housefull 5 experienced even higher occupancy in morning shows compared to the first and second days. Bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows were also considerably better. According to reports, the film’s third day India net collection is approximately ₹35 crore 50 lakh. With these figures, Housefull 5‘s initial three-day India net collection totals ₹90 crore 97 lakh.
Housefull 5: India Gross and Overseas Triumph
In terms of India gross collection, Housefull 5 earned ₹108 crore 25 lakh in three days, crossing the ₹100 crore mark domestically in this short period. The film’s overseas performance has also been impressive, with collections reaching ₹33 crore 51 lakh in the international market so far. Notably, its overseas earnings in just three days have surpassed the lifetime collections of Akshay Kumar’s previous eight to ten films.
Housefull 5: Global Box Office Domination
The initial three-day worldwide box office collection for Housefull 5 stands at ₹141 crore 76 lakh. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film was released on 5000 screens in India and 2000 screens overseas. It received a blockbuster response from the audience on its first day. The film is widely expected to maintain a strong hold on Monday, with double-digit collections indicating a long run at the box office. Current projections suggest Housefull 5 will earn over ₹300 crore lifetime, easily securing a superhit status.
Thug Life: Four-Day Collection Report
Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam, initially had significant pre-release buzz, with expectations of box office earnings between ₹5700 crore. Released on June 5th, the film unfortunately received disastrous reviews and was not well-received by the audience. While it secured a big opening on its first day, the collections completely collapsed on the second, third, and fourth days. Thug Life was released in four languages: Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi.
The film’s initial three-day India collection was ₹34 crore 96 lakh, which is considered low. On its fourth day (Sunday), the morning shows recorded slightly higher occupancy compared to the previous day, resulting in an India net collection of ₹8 crore 25 lakh across all languages. This brings Thug Life‘s initial four-day India net collection to ₹43 crore 21 lakh. The India gross collection for the film after four days is ₹51 crore 63 lakh.
Thug Life: Performance and Screen Impact
In the overseas market, Thug Life had a decent run, with an overseas gross collection of ₹38 crore 84 lakh. Consequently, the film’s four-day worldwide box office collection stands at ₹90 crore 47 lakh. With a budget of ₹200 crore, the film’s initial four-day weekend earnings were good, but it is expected to completely collapse at the box office starting Monday. In the Hindi market, Thug Life initially released on a good number of screens. However, upon the release of Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 on June 6th, Thug Life‘s screens in the Hindi market saw a 90% reduction, as the screens were reallocated to Housefull 5. Thug Life is set to become a big disaster at the box office, following Kamal Haasan’s previous film Indian 2, which was also a big disaster.
