Changiz First Day Box Office Collection Report
The Bengali film Changiz, directed by Rajesh Ganguly, was released on approximately 300 screens across India. Its actual budget stands at ₹7 crore, with an additional cost for Hindi dubbing and promotion bringing the total budget to ₹10 crore. This positions Changiz as a mega-budget film by Bengali film standards.
On its opening day, Changiz received a quite good response in the Bengali language market. However, in the Hindi market, the film did not achieve any particularly great success, attributed to fewer shows and screens. As per early reports, Changiz secured an all-India net collection of approximately ₹50 lakhs on its first day. For a Bengali film, this is considered a decent collection, with expectations of significant growth over the weekend if the film resonates with the audience.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan Box Office Performance
Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, directed by Farhad Samji, has a budget of ₹150 crore. The film’s producers managed to recover the entire budget before its theatrical release. Digital rights for the film were sold for ₹82 crore, satellite rights for ₹50 crore, and music rights for ₹20 crore. This resulted in a total recovery of ₹152 crore from these rights, which is ₹2 crore more than the film’s budget, even before its release.
The film launched across 4500 screens in India and approximately 1200 screens overseas, totaling 5700 screens worldwide. Despite being released pre-Eid, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan garnered quite good occupancy in its morning shows on the first day, and its overall first day collections were quite good. Early estimates indicate the film achieved an India net collection of ₹18 crore and an India gross collection of ₹21 crore on its first day. The overseas collection for the first day was approximately ₹8 crore. This brings the first-day worldwide collection for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan to an estimated ₹30 crore.
First Day Box Office Comparison: Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan vs Changiz
Comparing the first-day box office collections, Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan significantly outperformed Changiz. While Changiz had a decent collection relative to its budget for a Bengali film, its first-day collection of ₹50 lakhs is negligible when placed against Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan‘s estimated ₹30 crore worldwide collection. There is no comparable competition between the two films in terms of first-day earnings.
