The film Sikandar has completed five days in cinemas worldwide. Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, the movie has achieved record-breaking earnings. The film began its run on a holiday Sunday, accumulating over 50 crore worldwide on its first day. Collections remained strong on the second day, Eid, again surpassing 50 crore worldwide. The third day, also a holiday (Basi Eid), saw good collections.
It was anticipated that the film’s performance might decline from its fourth day due to critic responses. However, Sikandar maintained good earnings on its fourth day and a strong hold on its fifth day, indicating audience appreciation. No major Bollywood films are scheduled for release until the 10th, suggesting further strong earnings for Sikandar, with its final box office collection expected to exceed its 200 crore budget, making it a hit film.
Sikandar’s Five-Day Worldwide Box Office
Sikandar recorded a gross collection of ₹141 crore 15 lakh worldwide within its first three days. The India net collection for the first three days stood at ₹86 crore 43 lakh. On its fourth day, the film achieved a double-digit India net collection, surpassing ₹10 crore. For its fifth day, with occupancy dropping by 15% compared to the previous day, the film is estimated to earn approximately ₹8.5 crore in the Indian market.
Cumulatively, Sikandar’s all-India net collection for the initial five days has reached ₹105 crore 9 lakh, crossing the ₹100 crore mark. The film’s India gross collection stands at ₹125 crore 5 lakh. Additionally, it has earned ₹46 crore 86 lakh from overseas markets. This brings Sikandar’s total worldwide box office collection for the first five days to ₹172 crore 11 lakh, surpassing ₹170 crore globally.
Empyran’s Box Office Success: Eight-Day Collections
The pan-India film Empyran, released in five languages (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi), has completed one week and entered its second week. Made on a budget of just 50 crore, Empyran has already been declared a superhit due to its record-breaking collections worldwide. While the Hindi version is completely out of cinemas, the film continues to earn millions daily in its original Malayalam language, with decent collections also coming from Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil in its second week.
The total collection for Empyran across all languages for its first seven days (first week) was ₹84 crore 28 lakh India net. On its eighth day, the film is earning an estimated ₹4 crore 75 lakh across all languages. This brings Empyran’s cumulative India net collection for its initial eight days to ₹89 crore 2 lakh. The India gross collection stands at ₹105 crore 43 lakh, and the overseas gross collection has reached ₹137 crore 64 lakh. Consequently, Empyran’s total worldwide box office collection for the first eight days is ₹243 crore 7 lakh, marking a super duper hit status against its 50 crore budget.
Chhaava Achieves All-Time Blockbuster Status
The film Chhaava, released on February 14, has completed seven weeks in cinemas. Despite several new Bollywood releases, Chhaava maintained strong collections for six weeks. In its seventh week, the film’s screen count was significantly reduced due to the release of Salman Khan’s Sikandar, yet it managed to secure decent collections.
Chhaava’s total Hindi net collection stands at an impressive ₹595 crore. The Telugu version contributed ₹16 crore, bringing the film’s all-India net collection across both languages to ₹611 crore. The India gross collection for Chhaava is ₹724 crore. Furthermore, the film garnered a strong overseas collection of ₹94 crore. In total, Chhaava’s worldwide box office collection after seven weeks has reached ₹818 crore. With a budget of only 130 crore, the film has collected many times its cost, earning it the tag of an all-time blockbuster at the box office.
