John Abraham’s film, The Diplomat, made on a budget of 65 crore, did not have a remarkable start at the box office. However, the film received good reviews, resulting in a decent first-week collection. In its second week, with no major Bollywood film releases, The Diplomat maintained a strong hold at the box office. The film is anticipated to achieve significant earnings this weekend.
The Diplomat recorded an India net collection of 4 crore 3 lakh on its first day. Within its first week, spanning 7 days, the film accumulated ₹19 crore 45 lakh in India. On its eighth day, the film collected ₹1 crore 28 lakh. Due to Saturday being a half-holiday, the film saw an increase in occupancy and is set to collect ₹1 crore 75 lakh as its ninth-day net collection in India. With these figures, the all-India net collection for The Diplomat over its initial 9 days stands at 22 crore 48 lakh, while the India gross collection reached 26 crore 75 lakh. Globally, The Diplomat’s box office collection for 9 days totaled 30 crore 91 lakh. The film has shown decent earnings worldwide in its initial 9 days.
The Em Puraan Advance Booking Report
Mohanlal’s upcoming film, The Em Puraan, is poised to break all records in its Malayalam version, based on its advance booking figures. The film has generated advance booking collections that no other Malayalam film in history has achieved even on its first day. The Em Puraan has received an excellent response in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, in addition to Kerala.
Set to release on March 27th, with five days remaining until its debut, The Em Puraan has already secured 8 crore 13 lakh in advance bookings from Kerala and ₹1 crore 47 lakh from Karnataka. The all-India advance booking for the film stands at 11 crore 63 lakh. Internationally, the film’s overseas advance booking collection reached 14 crore 21 lakh. This brings The Em Puraan’s worldwide advance booking collection to a total of 25 crore 84 lakh. Malayalam cinema has previously delivered several 200 crore films but is yet to have a film grossing 300 or 400 crore.
Chaava Box Office Collection Milestones
Released on February 14th, Chaava, a film based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is currently in its seventh week in cinemas and continues to earn robustly at the box office. Directed by Laxman Utekar and made on a budget of 130 crore, Chaava has grossed many times its budget worldwide. The film was initially released in Hindi and became an all-time blockbuster in the Hindi market. Subsequently, it was also released in Telugu, where it continues to make strong earnings.
Currently, the Telugu version of Chaava is in its third week, while the Hindi version is in its seventh week. The film’s India net collection in the Hindi market over five weeks amounted to 571 crore 40 lakh. From its Telugu version, the film collected 14 crore 41 lakh in two weeks. This brought Chaava’s all-India net collection for the initial 35 days to 585 crore 81 lakh. On its 36th day (seventh Friday), the film maintained a strong hold, collecting ₹2 crore 10 lakh. On its 37th day, being a Saturday, Chaava saw good growth in collections, earning approximately ₹3 crore 25 lakh from both languages in India. Consequently, the film’s all-India net collection for the initial 37 days reached 591 crore 16 lakh, with an India gross collection of 701 crore 58 lakh. Worldwide, Chaava’s box office collection stands at 792 crore 76 lakh, solidifying its status as an all-time blockbuster globally.
