It also did not release on enough screens, leading to no big opening at the box office. On its release day, approximately 50% of the morning shows in the country did not run. In many places, the film started after 2 PM due to Holi celebrations. Even where morning shows were scheduled, the occupancy was quite low.

The Diplomat Budget and Pre-Release Business

The budget for The Diplomat is ₹65 crore. Before its release, the film had already recovered more than ₹40 crore. Its digital rights were sold for ₹24 crore to Netflix. Satellite rights were acquired by Sony Mix for ₹13 crore. Additionally, T-Series had already purchased the music rights for ₹6 crore. In total, the digital, satellite, and music rights of the ₹65 crore budget film were sold for ₹43 crore.

On its first day, The Diplomat registered an India net collection of approximately ₹2 crore 65 lakh. The India gross collection for the first day stands at ₹3 crore 16 lakh. The film was released in the overseas market on approximately 3400 screens, earning around ₹1 crore 35 lakh on its first day from international territories. With these figures, The Diplomat’s first-day worldwide box office collection reached ₹4 crore 51 lakh.

Namaste London Re-Release Box Office Update

The film Namaste London has been re-released approximately 18 years after its initial run in 2007. The re-release occurred on about 450 screens. Many morning shows for Namaste London did not run, and in several places, the film started after half a day. As per current reports, the re-release of Namaste London earned approximately ₹5 lakh on its first day.

When Namaste London was first released in 2007, it achieved a significant box office success. Its original India net collection was ₹37 crore 29 lakh, while the India gross collection stood at ₹51 crore 9 lakh. The film collected ₹11 crore 23 lakh from overseas markets. In total, Namaste London’s original worldwide collection was more than ₹61 crore, making it a big success at the box office at that time.

The film Chhaava, made on a budget of ₹130 crore, started its box office journey with record-breaking collections. In its first week, the film recorded an all-India net collection of ₹225 crore 28 lakh. The second week saw the film collect ₹186 crore 18 lakh at the Indian box office. Chhaava maintained its strong performance into the third week, with an India net collection of ₹84 crore 94 lakh. From the fourth week, the film was also released in Telugu, and it collected ₹28 crore 65 lakh in the India market from both Telugu and Hindi languages.

Chhaava Day 29 and Total Worldwide Collections

As Chhaava entered its fifth week, on its 29th day (fifth Friday), the film’s screens were significantly reduced due to the release of John Abraham’s The Diplomat and the re-release of Akshay Kumar’s Namaste London. This resulted in a notable drop in collections for Chhaava, with an estimated India net collection of approximately ₹2 crore 80 lakh on its 29th day. With this, Chhaava’s total all-India net collection now stands at ₹556 crore 28 lakh, and its India gross collection is ₹661 crore 92 lakh. The film’s total worldwide box office collection has reached ₹750 crore 86 lakh, surpassing the ₹750 crore mark globally.
