Pushpa 2’s Record-Breaking 5-Day Box Office Performance
Alia Bhatt’s mega-blockbuster film Pushpa 2 has completed five days in cinemas. Within these five days, the film has surpassed the lifetime collection of 99% of Bollywood films. The earnings from the first day to the fifth day have been consistently strong. Pushpa 2‘s five-day collection has also exceeded the five-day collections of Indian cinema’s biggest blockbusters like RRR, Baahubali 2, and KGF 2. The film was released across 12,500 screens in six languages: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
Global Box Office Domination by Pushpa 2
Upon its release, Pushpa 2 earned around 200 crore worldwide on its first day, shattering all Indian cinema opening day records. The film’s final collection is projected to be a minimum of 1500 crore, potentially reaching a lifetime collection of 2000 crore. In its initial five days, Pushpa 2‘s worldwide box office collection has surpassed 850 crore. The total overseas market collection for the film stands at 168 crore 28 lakh. Cumulatively, Pushpa 2‘s worldwide box office collection for the first five days is 878 crore 10 lakh.
Pushpa 2’s Strong Hold in the Hindi Market
In the Hindi market, Pushpa 2 was released on approximately 4500 screens. The film registered a first-day Hindi net collection of 72 crore, securing the record for the biggest Hindi opening. Within just three days, the Hindi net collection reached a significant 205 crore. The fourth day, a Sunday, saw an astonishing Hindi net collection of 87 crore, setting a new record as no film had previously earned 80 crore in the Hindi market in a single day.
Contrary to expectations of a drop on Monday, Pushpa 2 maintained strong occupancy on its fifth day. Morning shows in the Hindi market recorded an occupancy of 50-55%. As per reports, the film’s fifth-day Hindi net collection is in the range of 60 crore. With this, the initial five-day Hindi net collection for Pushpa 2 stands at 322 crore, and the five-day Hindi gross collection is 380 crore. Notably, Pushpa 2‘s five-day Hindi net collection of over 300 crore is higher than Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which had a five-day Hindi net collection of 222 crore 58 lakh.
All India Collections: Crossing Major Milestones
On its opening day, Pushpa 2 garnered an India net collection of 181 crore 78 lakh across all languages. The initial three-day India net collection reached 397 crore 21 lakh. On its fourth day (Sunday), the film earned an All India net collection of 148 crore 92 lakh, supported by a robust performance in the South Indian markets. The fifth-day India net collection is reported to be over 55 crore, showing a decent hold in the Telugu version and strong performance in Tamil and Karnataka, despite a weaker showing in Kerala.
The initial five-day India net collection for Pushpa 2 across all languages totals 601 crore 63 lakh, crossing the 600 crore mark. The film’s All India gross collection stands at 709 crore 82 lakh.
Comparing Pushpa 2’s Performance with Blockbuster Films
Pushpa 2‘s initial five-day worldwide collection of 878 crore 10 lakh significantly outperforms other major blockbusters’ five-day figures. Baahubali 2 collected 605 crore in five days, RRR earned 622 crore, and KGF 2 secured 610 crore within the same period. This indicates Pushpa 2 has collected more than Baahubali 2, KGF 2, and RRR in its first five days.
RRR and KGF 2 both had lifetime box office collections of 1200-1250 crore, which Pushpa 2 is expected to cross in the coming days. Baahubali 2‘s lifetime collection exceeded 1800 crore.
