Adi Purush is set for release on June 16, with approximately 17 to 18 days remaining until its debut. Despite the upcoming release, Adi Purush has already amassed over 150 crores in earnings two weeks prior to its release. This pre-release performance has enabled the film to break records previously held by KGF Chapter 2 and Baahubali 2. The film’s makers had previously postponed the release date to perfect its VFX. Following this, the film’s trailer, featuring improved VFX, received a positive reception, and its first song, “Jai Shri Ram,” also became a super hit. The success of the trailer and song led to increased excitement among audiences.
Record-Breaking Theatrical Rights Sales
Distributors have come forward to acquire the film, leading to significant theatrical rights sales. In the Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the theatrical rights for Adi Purush have been sold for 170 crores. This sale occurred while 16-17 days still remain until the film’s release. This figure sets a new record, surpassing previous benchmarks. Baahubali 2’s theatrical rights in the Telugu states were sold for 122 crores, and Saaho’s for 125 crores. Adi Purush’s 170 crores in Telugu states has broken these records.
Adi Purush Dominates Telugu States Box Office
From just two states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Adi Purush has generated 170 crores through the sale of its theatrical rights. The theatrical rights for other markets, including the Hindi market, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka states, are yet to be sold.
Future Box Office Potential
The film’s theatrical rights are still being sold. The question remains whether the film will sell theatrical rights equivalent to its budget before release. It is yet to be seen if Adi Purush will break the box office records of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Prabhas’s Baahubali.
