Animal Box Office: Third Week Performance and Milestones
Superstar Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol’s film “Animal” has delivered a massive impact at the box office, a feat many Bollywood films in recent years could not achieve. While most films lose momentum within a few days of release, “Animal” is in its third week in cinemas and continues to earn robustly day by day.
Ranbir Kapoor’s “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” earlier this year struggled to earn barely two to two-and-a-quarter crores worldwide. In contrast, “Animal” is breaking box office records daily. The film, made on a budget of just 125 crore, was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is projected that “Animal” will continue to run for another two to three weeks, and its final box office collection might even surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan.”
Animal Box Office: India Net and Worldwide Gross Collections
“Animal” collected an all-India net of 479 crore 14 lakh in its initial 14 days (two weeks). On its 15th day, which was the third Friday, the film earned 8 crore. On its 16th day, the third Saturday, the film showed a slight growth, with morning shows demonstrating better occupancy compared to the 15th day. According to reports, “Animal” is collecting an India net of 11 crore 50 lakh on its 16th day.
With these figures, the 16-day all-India net collection for “Animal” stands at 499 crore 24 lakh. The film is expected to enter the 500 crore club in terms of India net collection on its 17th day (Sunday), becoming the third Bollywood film to achieve this milestone.
“Animal”‘s India gross collection has already reached 596 crore. The film has garnered a total of 220 crore from overseas markets. Cumulatively, “Animal”‘s 16-day worldwide total gross collection is 816 crore. With Sunday’s anticipated strong earnings, the film’s worldwide collection is expected to reach approximately 850 crore within the next three days. Discussions are ongoing whether the film will halt at 900 crore or achieve a total collection of 1000 crore.
Dunki Overseas Advance Booking Report
Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Dunki,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani and featuring Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, is set to release on December 21st. The film is five days away from its release. While India’s advance booking for “Dunki” has not yet commenced, it is largely confirmed to begin nationwide from Sunday, possibly by Sunday evening or Monday morning. The booking from other remaining countries for the weekend is $65,000. Thus, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” has amassed a total overseas weekend advance booking of $24,000. This $24,000 translates to 14 crore 30 lakh in Indian currency, a splendid earning from overseas advance bookings alone.
With advance bookings in India set to begin, it is certain that the film will perform exceptionally well in advance bookings at the Indian box office. Upon its release on December 21st, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” could achieve a 100 crore opening.
