Animal Box Office Performance Continues Strong Run

Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol’s film Animal, released on December 1, continues its robust earnings at the box office. The movie has completed almost three weeks in cinemas and shows no signs of slowing down. Animal stands as the fourth Bollywood film in 2023, after Pathaan, Jawan, and Gadar 2, to achieve an India net collection of ₹500 crore. Its India net collection has now significantly surpassed the ₹500 crore mark.

The film, released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, has completed 20 days in cinemas. Its total India net collection across all five languages for the initial 18 days was ₹519 crore 64 lakh. On its 19th day, the film collected an India net of ₹4 crore 53 lakh. For its 20th day, reports indicate an India net collection of ₹4 crore 15 lakh, despite morning show occupancies experiencing a slight drop compared to the previous day. This brings Animal‘s All India net collection over 20 days to ₹528 crore 32 lakh. The India gross collection for the film stands at ₹610 crore. Globally, Animal has amassed a 20-day worldwide collection of ₹856 crore, exceeding ₹850 crore.

Dunki Records Historic Advance Booking

Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated film Dunki has recorded historic advance bookings even before its release. The film is set for a Thursday release, leading to a four-day weekend. Dunki‘s first-day India advance booking stands at ₹15 crore 83 lakh, while its overseas advance booking for the first day is ₹24 crore 37 lakh. This brings the film’s total first-day worldwide advance booking collection to ₹40 crore 20 lakh, surpassing ₹40 crore.

For its extended four-day weekend, Dunki‘s India advance booking collection has reached ₹28 crore 51 lakh. The overseas advance booking for the four-day period is ₹43 crore 62 lakh. Consequently, the film’s total worldwide advance booking collection for the initial four days is ₹72 crore 1 lakh, indicating collections over ₹72 crore. The significant advance booking suggests a very big opening at the box office.

Salaar Dominates Advance Bookings Over Dunki

Prabhas’ pan-India film Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel, has already surpassed Dunki in advance booking collections. The film, set to release on Friday, will have a three-day weekend. Salaar is releasing in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The advance booking for the main Telugu market, specifically the Nizam area, commenced recently and led to the BookMyShow app crashing due to overwhelming demand.

Salaar‘s first-day India advance booking collection across all languages is ₹18 crore 76 lakh. Its first-day overseas advance booking stands at ₹25 crore 42 lakh. This totals Salaar‘s first-day worldwide advance booking collection to ₹44 crore 18 lakh, which is notably higher than Dunki‘s first-day advance booking.

Considering the weekend collections, Salaar‘s three-day India advance booking is ₹31 crore 69 lakh. The overseas advance booking for the three-day period is ₹46 crore 34 lakh. Therefore, Salaar‘s total worldwide advance booking collection for its three-day weekend is an impressive ₹78 crore 2 lakh. This figure places Salaar significantly ahead of Dunki in overall advance booking collections, despite Dunki having a four-day weekend compared to Salaar‘s three-day weekend.
