Bade Miyan Chote Miyan vs. Maidaan Box Office: Collection, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgan Analysis

Maidaan Box Office Performance and Collections

Aamir Sharma’s Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn, has completed 11 days in cinemas since its Eid release. The film, made on a budget of 150 crore, saw a significant jump in collections on its 11th day, which was the second Sunday. While the film did not achieve a strong opening or robust weekend collections initially, and its first week collection was considerably lower than Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, it witnessed a good surge in its collections during the second week. This uplift was partly due to the absence of any major Bollywood releases during this period, leading to strong second-weekend figures.

As per reports, Maidaan‘s initial nine days recorded an India Net Collection of 30 crore 81 lakh. On its 10th day, the second Saturday, the film earned ₹2 crore 27 lakh in India Net Collection. The 11th day, being a Sunday, saw a significant growth in occupancy, with afternoon, evening, and night shows reporting solid bookings. The estimated India Net Collection for the 11th day stands at ₹2 crore 95 lakh. With these figures, Maidaan‘s total India Net Collection for the initial 11 days reaches 36 crore 2 lakh, and its India Gross Collection is 42 crore 86 lakh. The film has impressively surpassed the 50 crore mark worldwide, with a total box office collection of 50 crore 48 lakh over 11 days globally.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Box Office Overview

Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s action-packed film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, released on Eid, has also completed 11 days in cinemas. Produced with a budget of 300 crore, the film was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. It secured a better opening than Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan on Eid, achieving a decent worldwide opening on its first day. The film’s first weekend collections were strong. However, its collections experienced a decline during weekdays as holidays concluded.

Similar to Maidaan, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan also benefited from the lack of new Bollywood releases in its second week, leading to a good jump in its collections over the second weekend. While the film is almost out of the South Indian language markets, its Hindi version managed a decent earning at the box office during the second weekend. The film’s initial nine days saw an India Net Collection of 54 crore 8 lakh. On its 10th day, the second Saturday, it earned ₹3 crore 15 lakh. For its 11th day, Sunday, the film showed strong growth, with morning shows performing better than the previous day and afternoon, evening, and night show bookings being robust. The reported India Net Collection for the 11th day is ₹3 crore 70 lakh. This brings Bade Miyan Chote Miyan‘s initial 11-day India Net Collection to 68 crore 93 lakh, with an India Gross Collection of 70 crore 12 lakh. Globally, the film’s 11-day worldwide box office collection has reached 119 crore 56 lakh, nearing the 120 crore mark worldwide. The film’s final box office performance, whether it settles around 150 crore or 200 crore, will become clearer after Monday’s collections.

Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Expectations

The highly anticipated film Kalki, previously known as Project K, which features Prabhas alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, is generating significant buzz. Although its initial release date of May 12 was postponed, the official new release date is now confirmed. Media reports suggest that Kalki is expected to be released on June 27. When Kalki eventually hits cinemas, it is anticipated to achieve a massive opening, with projections indicating a first-day worldwide collection of at least 150 crore. Should the film perform well, it is widely expected to break all existing records at the Indian box office. Speculation also surrounds whether Kalki will surpass the box office records of Prabhas’s previous films, Salaar or his blockbuster Baahubali 2.
