John Abraham’s film, The Diplomat, has completed two weeks in cinemas and has three days remaining for its box office run before Salman Khan’s Sikandar releases. The film has not yet recovered its budget. The Diplomat’s initial 11-day India net collection was ₹27 crore 9 lakh. On its 12th day, the film earned ₹1 crore 7 lakh at the Indian box office. On its 13th day, The Diplomat is earning approximately ₹90 lakh, with occupancy dropping compared to the previous day.
The total India net collection for The Diplomat in its first 13 days stands at ₹9 crore 6 lakh. The India gross collection is ₹34 crore 58 lakh. Overseas, the film has not received a significant response, with a total overseas gross collection of ₹5 crore 27 lakh. This brings The Diplomat’s 13-day worldwide box office collection to ₹39 crore 85 lakh. Against a budget of ₹65 crore, The Diplomat has collected approximately ₹40 crore worldwide, making it a flop at the box office.
Empuraan Advance Booking Sets New Records
Indian cinema’s highly anticipated film Empuraan, an action crime thriller, has generated immense hype, particularly in Malayalam cinema. The film’s advance booking collections have already surpassed the record for the biggest opening in the history of Malayalam cinema. Empuraan has received a strong response not just for its first day, but also for its second, third, and fourth-day bookings.
The film is set to release in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil. Its first-day advance booking for March 27 across all five languages reached ₹48 crore 53 lakh. The second day’s booking stands at ₹7 crore 16 lakh, the third day at ₹1 crore 23 lakh, and the fourth day (Sunday) at ₹1 crore 68 lakh. This totals Empuraan’s four-day worldwide advance booking collection to ₹77 crore 60 lakh. With an estimated budget of approximately ₹100 crore, the film is expected to recover its budget within two to three days, confirming it as a big blockbuster.
Chaava Continues Record-Breaking Box Office Run
Vicky Kaushal’s historical action drama, Chaava, released on February 14, is now in its second month in cinemas and continues its record-breaking earnings. Unlike many Bollywood films that see collections drop within a few days or weeks, Chaava is still performing strongly in its seventh week. The film has already earned many times its budget worldwide, with impressive collections both in India and overseas.
Chaava’s initial 39-day India net collection was ₹598 crore 99 lakh. On its 40th day, the film added ₹1 crore 63 lakh to its Indian box office tally. For its 41st day, the film is estimated to earn approximately ₹1 crore 50 lakh in India, despite a slight drop in occupancy compared to the previous day. The all-India net collection for Chaava over its first 41 days has crossed the ₹600 crore mark, totaling ₹601 crore 22 lakh from its Hindi and Telugu versions. The India gross collection stands at ₹713 crore 45 lakh. Overseas, the film has recorded a gross collection of ₹92 crore 16 lakh. In total, Chaava’s 41-day worldwide box office collection is ₹805 crore 61 lakh. With a budget of ₹130 crore, Chaava is already a big blockbuster. The film is expected to have 3-4 more days of good earnings before its screens are significantly reduced to around 50-100 in its eighth week due to the release of Salman Khan’s Sikandar.
Sikandar Achieves Massive Advance Booking
Salman Khan’s upcoming film, Sikandar, is set to release on March 30, which is a Sunday, with Eid falling on Monday, the second day of its release. The advance booking for Sikandar began nationwide, and the response has been record-breaking, with tickets selling rapidly and crores of rupees collected in advance booking within 24 hours.
The film has seen fantastic advance booking in India and strong earnings from overseas advance bookings, which started 8 to 10 days earlier. Sikandar’s opening day (first day) advance booking across India is ₹7 crore 43 lakh. The second day’s advance booking in India stands at ₹4 crore 61 lakh. This brings the total India advance booking for the first two days to ₹12 crore 4 lakh. The overseas advance booking has accumulated ₹8 crore 37 lakh. Consequently, Sikandar’s total worldwide advance booking collection for its first two days has reached ₹20 crore 41 lakh. With 3 to 4 days still remaining until its release, the film has already crossed ₹20 crore in advance bookings. Sikandar is anticipated to be another major blockbuster for Salman Khan.
