Chhaava Box Office Performance: A Bollywood Anomaly
Chhaava film has achieved a remarkable feat at the box office, unlike any film in Bollywood history. Most Bollywood films earn well in the initial three days, but their collections typically drop significantly on the fourth day, with further reductions on the fifth and sixth days. In contrast, Chhaava recorded record-breaking earnings on its first, second, and third days. While the film’s collections saw a slight dip on the fourth day, its fifth and sixth-day collections have once again become record-breaking.
Strong Weekday Collections and Record Breaks
Chhaava is making substantial earnings at the box office, with its collections increasing day by day. While most Bollywood films tend to lose momentum in weekdays after the weekend, Chhaava is making impressive earnings even on weekdays, as if it were a festive period. The film continues to break box office records despite not being released during any major festival. It secured Vicky Kaushal’s biggest opening on its first day and achieved a weekend collection exceeding 120 crore.
Chhaava’s Weekday Collection Trends and Milestones
On its sixth day, which coincided with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Jayanti and a holiday in Maharashtra, Chhaava saw houseful shows across Maharashtra. The film’s sixth-day box office collections were significantly better than its fourth and fifth-day collections.
Chhaava, produced on a budget of 130 crore, recorded an India Net Collection of 121 crore 43 lakh during its opening weekend (first three days). On its fourth day (Monday), the film earned over ₹20 crore at the box office. Although morning shows on the fifth day saw slightly lower occupancy compared to the fourth day, the film’s evening and night shows on the fifth day performed significantly better than the fourth day. Remarkably, Chhaava’s earnings on the fifth day exceeded ₹25 crore. This is considered a significant achievement, as it is unprecedented in Bollywood history for a film to have higher collections on the fifth working day than on the fourth.
Impressive Day 6 and Total India Net Collections
On its sixth day, with the advantage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Jayanti and a full holiday in Maharashtra, Chhaava’s morning show occupancy was notably better than on the fourth and fifth days. Evening and night show bookings for the sixth day were reported to be as strong as those on the film’s first day. Preliminary reports indicate that Chhaava is collecting approximately ₹30 crore as its India Net Collection on its sixth day. With this, Chhaava’s total India Net Collection for the initial six days has reached 201 crore 43 lakh.
Chhaava has entered the 200 crore club in India Net Collection in just six days. It is also the first film of 2025 to achieve an India Net Collection of over ₹200 crore in Hindi.
Worldwide Box Office Success
The film’s India Gross Collection stands at 239 crore 22 lakh. Chhaava was released on 1500 screens overseas, and its international earnings have been robust. The film has garnered an Overseas Gross Collection of 36 crore 91 lakh so far.
Cumulatively, Chhaava’s six-day Worldwide Box Office Collection totals 276 crore 1 lakh. With a budget of 130 crore, the film has earned more than double its budget in just six days, establishing itself as a blockbuster within its first week at the box office.
Future Box Office Outlook
It is anticipated that no major Bollywood film will be released for the next one to one and a half months, until Salman Khan’s Sikandar arrives after six weeks. This suggests that Chhaava could continue its strong box office performance for an extended period. The final box office collection for the film remains a point of interest, with potential lifetime earnings projected to reach 700-800 crore or even 1000 crore.
