The Diplomat Box Office Report: First 3 Days Collections
John Abraham’s action thriller, The Diplomat, directed by Shivam Nair, has delivered a surprising performance at the box office. Despite low buzz before its release and limited marketing, the film saw good earnings on its first day. Although morning shows on the second day experienced lower occupancy, afternoon, evening, and night shows led to significantly better collections. The film had an astonishing start on its third day.
Made on an approximate budget of ₹65 Crores, The Diplomat was released on around 2000 screens worldwide on Holi. On its first day, the film collected more than ₹4 Crores in India Net Collection. The second day’s India Net Collection surpassed the first day, reaching over ₹45 Crores. For its third day, which is Sunday, the film is expected to collect approximately ₹6 Crores 10 Lakhs in India Net Collection, benefiting from better morning show occupancy compared to the first two days, and strong bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows.
With these figures, The Diplomat’s cumulative India Net Collection for its first three days stands at ₹14 Crores 68 Lakhs. The India Gross Collection is reported as ₹1 Crore 46 Lakhs. The total All India Net Collection for Namaste London’s re-release within its first three days is ₹1 Crore 38 Lakhs. The India Gross Collection is also reported as ₹1 Crore 38 Lakhs. This performance is notable given that the makers did not promote the re-release or release a new trailer.
Sikandar: Upcoming Release and Box Office Expectations
Superstar Salman Khan’s upcoming action-packed film, Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, is set to release next week during the Eid period. While the release date has not been officially announced, the makers are considering either March 28 (Friday) or March 30 (Sunday).
Sikandar is expected to achieve a bumper opening at the box office, attributed to Salman Khan’s star power. The film’s shooting has recently been completed, and post-production work including VFX, background music, and color grading is slated to be finished within the next five days. A trailer release is anticipated shortly after. The film will feature four songs, with two already released and two more to be out before the film’s theatrical debut. Sikandar is also said to contain five major action sequences, including Salman Khan’s entry sequence, which are described as grander than his previous films. A powerful trailer is expected to further boost the film’s potential to break multiple box office records and could potentially make it a ₹1000 Crore earning film for Salman Khan.
