Dhhurandhar’s Continued Box Office Domination
The film Dhhurandhar has entered its third week in cinemas, achieving record-breaking earnings at the box office. Despite new film releases leading to a reduction in Dhhurandhar’s screen count, the movie continues to run housefull across the country. In its first week, Dhhurandhar earned significantly more than its budget. The film further surprised expectations by collecting even more in its second week compared to its first, despite numerous new releases and fewer screens. Now in its third week, even with Avatar 3 taking over many of its screens, Dhhurandhar continues to deliver impressive daily collections on fewer screens. This performance suggests the film is unstoppable and will continue its record-breaking run for several more weeks. Dhhurandhar has achieved a feat at the box office that no Indian cinema film, be it Bollywood or a Pan India release, has accomplished before. In India, Avatar 3 was allocated significantly fewer screens than Dhhurandhar, indicating Dhhurandhar remains the public’s primary choice.
Avatar 3’s Impressive Global Debut
This week saw the release of the Hollywood film Avatar 3, also known as Avatar Fire and Ash. The Avatar series has a strong fan following in the Indian market; its first part was a complete blockbuster in India, and the second part also achieved record-breaking earnings at the Indian box office. Avatar 3 received a strong opening on its first day at the Indian box office. The film was released across India in approximately 1700 screens and in six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and English. The English version garnered the best response, with the Hindi version also showing strong earnings, and the first-day collection in South Indian languages being quite fantastic. However, Avatar 3 did not achieve as large an opening as Avatar 2, primarily because Dhhurandhar already occupies a significant number of screens in India. Despite this, Avatar 3’s first-day collection in India is considerable. Overseas, Avatar 3 took over most of Dhhurandhar’s screens in the third week, as its main market is international.
Dhhurandhar’s Day-Wise and Total India Collections
Dhhurandhar accumulated an India net collection of ₹454 crore 20 lakh within its first 13 days. On its 14th day, the film added another ₹24 crore 68 lakh to its Indian box office earnings. For its 15th day, Dhhurandhar is estimated to collect ₹21 crore 50 lakh at the Indian box office. This is despite a considerable reduction in its screen count, particularly in South Indian markets where most screens went to Avatar 3, and prime locations in the Hindi market where screens are now split 50-50 between Avatar 3 and Dhhurandhar. The morning shows recorded excellent occupancy, and bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows were completely solid. With this, Dhhurandhar’s total All India net collection for its initial 15 days stands at ₹500 crore 38 lakh, surpassing the ₹500 crore mark. The film’s India gross collection to date is ₹598 crore 23 lakh.
Avatar 3’s First Day India and Worldwide Earnings
On its first day, Avatar 3 achieved an India net collection of ₹14 crore 50 lakh from its English version. The Hindi version contributed ₹6 crore 50 lakh, and the South Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada) collectively added ₹5 crore. This brings Avatar 3’s total first day India net collection to approximately ₹26 crore. The film’s first day India gross collection reached ₹31 crore. Globally, Avatar 3 earned $125 million on its first day, which converts to ₹1131 crore in Indian currency, exceeding ₹1100 crore. It is expected that Avatar 3’s first weekend collections will surpass its total budget.
Dhhurandhar’s Worldwide Box Office Performance
Dhhurandhar accumulated an overseas gross collection of ₹156 crore 77 lakh. While the film had strong overseas earnings for its first two weeks, its foreign collections have started to decrease as Avatar 3 took over most international screens in the third week. Dhhurandhar’s total worldwide collection for its initial 15 days stands at ₹755 crore, successfully crossing the ₹750 crore milestone. The film is now anticipated to cross the ₹1000 crore mark.
