Dhurandhar Continues Strong Box Office Run
The film Dhurandhar continues its strong box office performance. After completing five weeks in cinemas, the film still holds a good number of screens. It is expected to run on many screens in its sixth week, with decent collection figures anticipated. Even with the release of The Raja Saab, Dhurandhar is expected to make a strong collection on fewer screens.
Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt’s film Dhurandhar collected an India net collection of ₹831 crore 40 lakh in its initial 33 days. This made it the highest-grossing film in the Hindi market, surpassing Pushpa 2’s Hindi net collection of ₹830 crore in just 33 days. On its 34th day, the film earned ₹4 crore 75 lakh in the Indian market. On its 35th day, Dhurandhar is collecting approximately ₹4.5 crore as India net collection.
With this, the total India net collection for Dhurandhar stands at ₹840 crore 65 lakh. The film’s India gross collection has reached ₹992 crore. In the coming days, the film is expected to cross the ₹1000 crore mark in India gross collection, making it the first film in Indian cinema history to achieve a Hindi gross collection of over ₹1000 crore. Dhurandhar has also performed well overseas, collecting ₹286 crore in the overseas market to date. The film’s worldwide box office collection has now reached ₹1278 crore. To surpass the ₹1300 crore mark, the film needs to earn an additional ₹22 crore, which it is fully expected to achieve comfortably in its next week.
The Raja Saab: Record-Breaking Advance Bookings
Pan India superstar Prabhas’s film, The Raja Saab, has broken several records in advance bookings alone. The film is set to release globally in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. With the postponement of Janagan, The Raja Saab has now secured a good number of screens across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala. The film will also be released on a large number of screens in the Hindi market, and 90% of theaters in the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) will screen the film.
Overseas bookings for The Raja Saab began much earlier and received a tremendous response. With India-wide bookings now open for all languages, the film has created a stir. The Raja Saab’s advance booking collections include approximately ₹10 crore 93 lakh from Andhra Pradesh, ₹8 crore 56 lakh from Telangana, ₹3 crore 34 lakh from Karnataka, ₹2 crore 41 lakh from the Hindi market (North India), and approximately ₹1 crore 68 lakh from Kerala and Tamil Nadu combined.
The first-day all-India advance booking collection for The Raja Saab has reached ₹26 crore 92 lakh within a few hours. In the overseas market, where bookings started two weeks prior, the film has already garnered ₹23 crore 11 lakh from advance bookings. This brings The Raja Saab’s first-day worldwide advance booking collection to ₹50 crore 3 lakh. With several hours remaining until release, the film has already earned over ₹50 crore in advance bookings. It is confirmed that the film will earn more than ₹100 crore worldwide on its first day.
21: Eight-Day Box Office Performance
The Bollywood historical action war drama film, 21, released last week, completed eight days in cinemas. The film, which had a budget of ₹70 crore, was released on January 1st. While it received a good response on its first day at the box office and decent reviews, it did not create a major impact in the subsequent days.
In its initial six days, 21 collected an India net collection of ₹25 crore 11 lakh. On its seventh day, the film earned ₹1 crore 24 lakh in the Indian market. For its eighth day, 21 is earning ₹1 crore 30 lakh in the Indian market. The film’s overall India net collection in the first eight days stands at ₹27 crore 85 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹32 crore 78 lakh. Its overseas gross collection was ₹3 crore 12 lakh. Thus far, 21 has achieved a worldwide collection of ₹35 crore 90 lakh.
Avatar 3: Three Weeks Collection Update
Hollywood’s film Avatar 3, released worldwide on December 19th, completed 21 days in cinemas. The film was released in India in six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and English. Avatar 3 had a strong first week, maintained a good hold in the second week, and delivered decent earnings in its third week. The film’s worldwide collections have already exceeded $1 billion.
Avatar 3’s India net collection in its first seven days (first week) was ₹109 crore 50 lakh. In the second week, the film earned ₹50 crore 70 lakh in the Indian market. Despite a reduction in screens, the film collected ₹20 crore 75 lakh from the Indian market in its third week. As a result, Avatar 3’s all-India net collection in its initial three weeks (21 days) has reached ₹181 crore 15 lakh. Its India gross collection stands at ₹215 crore 56 lakh, making it a hit film in the Indian market.
According to major Hollywood websites, Avatar 3 has earned $1.12 billion worldwide so far, which translates to approximately ₹9000 crore in Indian currency. The film’s earnings have been strong both overseas and in India. The final box office collection is expected to reach $1.50 billion, securing a ‘superhit’ tag globally.
Janagan: Advance Booking Figures Before Postponement
Thalapathy Vijay’s film, Janagan, had its advance booking opened much earlier, achieving record-breaking advance booking collections overseas. Bookings in India also commenced in the last two days, setting several new records. Before its release date was postponed, the film had already achieved a first-day worldwide advance booking collection of ₹65 crore. The weekend booking for Janagan had surpassed ₹80 crore worldwide. All amounts from the advance bookings have since been refunded.
