Fateh Box Office Performance: Day 1 Collections and Budget Analysis

Sonn Sood’s “Fateh,” the first Bollywood release of 2025, debuted on 1500 screens worldwide. The film was made with a budget of ₹25 crore. Prior to its release, “Fateh” had already recovered a significant portion of its budget through various rights. The digital rights were sold for ₹11 crore, satellite rights for ₹8 crore, and music rights for ₹3 crore, bringing the total pre-release recovery to ₹22 crore.

On its first day, “Fateh” achieved an India net collection of ₹3.20 crore and an India gross collection of ₹4.16 crore. The film also earned approximately ₹1.20 crore from the overseas market. This resulted in a worldwide first-day box office collection of ₹5.36 crore. The film received a decent opening, with morning shows reporting strong occupancy and good bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows, despite a first-day ticket rate of less than ₹100.

Pushpa 2 Box Office Dominance: 37-Day Worldwide Collections

Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2,” directed by Sukumar and made on a budget of ₹500 crore, was released on December 5th across 12000 screens worldwide in six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali. The film achieved historic earnings during its initial three to four weeks.

Over 37 days, “Pushpa 2” recorded a total Hindi net collection of ₹821.37 crore. This includes a first-week Hindi net collection of ₹433.50 crore, making it the first Indian cinema film to cross ₹400 crore in the Hindi market in its opening week. The second week saw a Hindi collection of ₹199 crore, followed by over ₹107 crore in the third week and ₹56.25 crore in the fourth week. In the fifth week, with reduced screen counts, the Hindi net collection was ₹24.87 crore. The Hindi gross collection stands at ₹973.32 crore, with Hindi theatrical rights having sold for ₹200 crore, classifying it as a Maha Mega Blockbuster in the Hindi version.

Beyond Hindi, the film’s South Indian languages contributed ₹605.28 crore to the India gross collection. This brings the all-India gross collection across all languages to ₹1528.60 crore. The overseas collection for “Pushpa 2” reached ₹274.21 crore. Cumulatively, the worldwide total box office collection for “Pushpa 2” over 37 days is ₹1852.81 crore. Currently, the film’s total screens have decreased significantly to 400-500 across all languages, with its main market in Telugu states being largely out due to new releases, leading to a daily decline in collections.

Game Changer Box Office Debut: Record-Breaking First Day Earnings

Ram Charan’s “Game Changer,” a political action drama thriller directed by Shankar, was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, across 7500 screens worldwide. This marks Ram Charan’s highest screen count release after “RRR.” The film was produced with a substantial budget of ₹450 crore, including ₹60 crore spent on filming five to six songs.

On its first day, “Game Changer” achieved an India gross collection of ₹92 crore across all languages. The film’s area-wise performance includes a dominant ₹70 crore from the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where morning shows were housefull and afternoon, evening, and night shows saw strong bookings. Karnataka contributed ₹10 crore, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala collectively generated approximately ₹5 crore. In the Hindi market, “Game Changer” secured approximately ₹7 crore, with morning shows recording 25-27% occupancy and decent bookings for subsequent shows.

The film also had a strong presence in the overseas market, including paid preview shows in North America. When combining paid previews and the first day’s overseas collection, “Game Changer” earned approximately ₹28 crore from international markets. Consequently, the film’s first-day worldwide box office collection stands at ₹120 crore.

Game Changer: Pre-Release Recovery and Theatrical Rights

Before its theatrical release, “Game Changer” had already recovered ₹400 crore from various rights against its ₹450 crore budget. The worldwide theatrical rights alone contributed ₹220 crore. This includes ₹138 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, ₹15 crore from Tamil Nadu, ₹18 crore from Karnataka, ₹50 lakh from Kerala, ₹25 crore from the Hindi market, and ₹25 crore from overseas rights.

Additionally, the digital, satellite, and music rights collectively fetched ₹180 crore. Specifically, satellite rights were sold for ₹55 crore, and music rights for ₹20 crore.
