Jawan’s Box Office Journey: Two Weeks and Counting
Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawan has been in cinemas for almost two weeks, and its earnings continue to be strong. The film has achieved massive earnings in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages across India, and has also created history in the overseas market. Jawan, made on a budget of ₹300 crore, has earned many times its budget within 13 days of its release on the 7th of the month.
India Net Collection Milestones
Jawan made an India net collection of ₹408 crore 98 lakh in just nine days. This made Jawan the first Bollywood film to cross the ₹400 crore India net collection mark in the shortest time. The film is the third Bollywood film to achieve an India net collection of over ₹500 crore. Prior to Jawan, Pathaan was the first Bollywood film to cross ₹500 crore India net collection, followed by Gadar 2.
Day-Wise Box Office Performance
Jawan continued its strong performance with significant daily collections. On its 10th day, the film earned a commendable ₹31 crore 80 lakh. The 11th day saw further earnings of ₹36 crore 85 lakh. On its 12th day, Jawan collected approximately ₹14 crore 50 lakh across all three languages. For its 13th day, Jawan is reported to be making an India net collection of ₹16 crore 50 lakh. This increase in collections on the 13th day is attributed to a holiday benefit in some regions.
Cumulative India Collections
The cumulative India net collection for Jawan in its initial 13 days stands at ₹508 crore 63 lakh. The film’s India gross collection, including taxes, has reached ₹605 crore.
Worldwide Box Office Triumphs
Jawan has earned ₹297 crore in the overseas market. Combining its India gross and overseas earnings, Jawan’s total worldwide gross collection within the first 13 days has reached ₹902 crore. It is projected that the film’s worldwide collection will cross ₹1000 crore in another three to four days.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Box Office Dominance
Comparing Jawan’s performance, Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film Pathaan had a worldwide collection of ₹1050 crore. With Jawan’s 13-day worldwide collection at ₹902 crore, Shah Rukh Khan’s two films released this year have collectively generated a total box office collection of ₹1952 crore. It is anticipated that Jawan’s final collection will reach ₹1100 to ₹1200 crore, potentially contributing ₹2200 to ₹2300 crore to Bollywood from just Jawan and Pathaan this year. Looking ahead, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Dunki, scheduled for release in December, is also expected to earn ₹1200 to ₹1500 crore at the box office. This would make Shah Rukh Khan the first Bollywood superstar to achieve approximately ₹3500 crore in box office earnings from Jawan, Pathaan, and Dunki within a single year. Shah Rukh Khan is considered India’s number one superstar, with his records from Jawan and Pathaan setting a benchmark that only his own future films are likely to surpass.
