In 2023, over 100 Bollywood films have been released to date. The combined box office collections of these numerous films are significantly less than the total earnings of just two Shah Rukh Khan films, Pathaan and Jawan. This highlights Shah Rukh Khan’s current standing in Bollywood.

At the beginning of the year, Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan achieved record-breaking worldwide earnings. Currently, the film Jawan has surpassed Pathaan’s box office performance. Within the same year, both Pathaan and Jawan were released, with each film earning over ₹1000 crore in the worldwide market. At the Indian box office, both films collected more than ₹500 crore each. For eight months following its release, no other Bollywood film managed to break Pathaan’s record. However, Shah Rukh Khan himself has broken Pathaan’s records with Jawan.
Jawan’s Budget and Initial Collection Trends
Jawan, directed by Atlee Kumar, had a budget of ₹300 crore and was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The film achieved strong earnings for its first two weeks. Despite the release of four to five new Bollywood films in its third week, Jawan continued to deliver significant collections.

Jawan’s initial 8-day all-India net collection stood at ₹390.88 crore. In its second week, the film’s all-India net collection was ₹136.10 crore. Entering its third week, Jawan recorded an all-India net collection of ₹7.07 crore on its 16th day. On the 17th day, the film’s all-India net collection was ₹12.25 crore. The 18th day, a Sunday, witnessed a considerable increase in collections, with the film earning an all-India net collection of ₹16.50 crore across all three languages. For its 19th day (Monday), Jawan is reported to be collecting an all-India net of ₹6.50 crore.
Jawan’s 19-Day Worldwide Box Office Report
After 19 days, Jawan’s all-India net collection totals ₹568.83 crore. The film’s India gross collection is ₹680 crore. In the overseas market, Jawan has made a strong earning of ₹338 crore. Cumulatively, Jawan’s total worldwide gross collection over its initial 19 days has reached ₹1018 crore. The film has achieved “All Time Mega Blockbuster” status at the box office.
