Jawan vs Gadar 2 vs OMG 2: Shahrukh Khan's Box Office Domination and Advance Booking Collections

OMG 2 Box Office Performance

Akshay Kumar’s film OMG 2, which was released on August 11th, is currently running in its fourth week in cinemas. Upon its release, OMG 2 faced competition from Gadar 2, resulting in a low screen count in its first week. By the third week, another Bollywood film’s release further reduced OMG 2’s screen availability. In its fourth week, the film is running on a low screen count, down to barely 5700 screens. Despite this, OMG 2 continues to achieve strong earnings.

OMG 2 India and Worldwide Collections

In its first week, spanning 7 days, OMG 2 garnered an India net collection of ₹85.05 crore. By the end of its second week (14 days), the film’s all-India net collection reached ₹126.42 crore. After the initial three weeks, OMG 2 recorded an all-India net collection of ₹145.92 crore. In the fourth week, the film earned ₹1.35 crore on its 22nd day (fourth Friday) and approximately ₹1.80 crore on its 23rd day. The cumulative all-India net collection for OMG 2 now stands at ₹150.07 crore, with an India gross collection of ₹178 crore. Globally, Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 has achieved a worldwide collection of ₹219 crore, making it a superhit at the box office.

Gadar 2 Box Office Domination

Sunny Deol’s film Gadar 2, also released on August 11th, enjoyed tremendous collections for three weeks and continued its strong performance into the fourth week. However, the film’s collections are expected to see a significant decline in its fifth week due to the upcoming release of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Despite this anticipated drop, Gadar 2’s earnings in cinemas so far have been impressive.

Gadar 2 India Net and Gross Collections

Gadar 2 made an all-India net collection of ₹284.63 crore in its first week (7 days). Its second week saw continued strong performance, pushing the total all-India net collection to ₹419.10 crore in 14 days. The film faced competition in its third week, which led to fewer screens, but it still achieved a robust all-India net collection of ₹482.45 crore over three weeks. Contrary to expectations of a drop in the fourth week, Gadar 2 maintained strong earnings, collecting ₹4.30 crore on its 22nd day (fourth Friday). On its 23rd day (fourth Saturday), Gadar 2 received a better response in morning shows and strong evening and night show bookings due to it being a half-holiday. The film is estimated to collect ₹6.50 crore on its 23rd day, bringing its cumulative all-India net collection to ₹493.25 crore. If Gadar 2 earns ₹7 crore on its fourth Sunday (24th day), its India net collection will surpass the ₹500 crore mark. It is projected to become the second film after Baahubali and Pathaan to achieve an India net collection of ₹500 crore.

Gadar 2 Worldwide Earnings

Beyond its India net collection, Gadar 2 has already made substantial earnings in gross and worldwide collections. The film’s all-India gross collection, including taxes, stands at ₹587 crore. The total worldwide gross collection for Gadar 2 has reached ₹652 crore. It is stated that Jawan might break all records set by Gadar 2.
