Bed News Box Office Performance: 8-Day Collection Report
Bollywood’s comedy-drama film “Bed News,” made on a budget of 70 crore, achieved excellent earnings in its first week. The film surpassed its budget in worldwide collections within the first week. However, upon entering its second week, “Bed News” saw a significant reduction in screen count, particularly in North India where screens were decreased by 50% due to the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine.” This impacted its growth in the second week.
“Bed News” opened with an India net collection of ₹8 crore 62 lakh on its first day. Over the three-day weekend, the film earned more than ₹25 crore. The first week (seven days) concluded with an India net collection of ₹44 crore 70 lakh. On its eighth day, the film collected ₹2 crore 10 lakh. With this, the initial eight-day India net collection for “Bed News” stands at ₹46 crore 80 lakh, and its India gross collection is ₹55 crore 68 lakh. The film’s eight-day worldwide box office collection has reached ₹82 crore 19 lakh, marking it as a successful film at the box office within this period. Further collection growth is anticipated over the upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
Raayan First Day Box Office Collection: Dhanush’s Career Best Opening
Dhanush’s action-drama film “Raayan,” released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi dubs, received a strong first-day response in Tamil Nadu, opening with 100% occupancy in many locations. Telugu states also contributed to a robust opening. However, the film’s Hindi collection proved disappointing due to a lack of promotion and limited screen release in the Hindi market. Despite this, “Raayan” has already garnered strong earnings from its South Indian language versions (Tamil and Telugu), making it Dhanush’s highest first-day collection film of his career.
The film, with a budget of approximately ₹90 crore, had already recovered over ₹108 crore through pre-release rights. Its digital rights for all three languages sold for ₹55 crore, satellite rights for ₹48 crore, and music rights for ₹5 crore. As per initial reports, “Raayan” recorded an India net collection of ₹14 crore 50 lakh from its Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions on its first day. The all-India gross collection for the first day is ₹16 crore 45 lakh. The film also earned approximately ₹8 crore 25 lakh from overseas markets on its first day, including premiere shows. Consequently, “Raayan” achieved a first-day worldwide box office collection of ₹24 crore 75 lakh.
Deadpool & Wolverine: Massive First Day Worldwide Earnings
The Hollywood film “Deadpool & Wolverine” made a record-breaking worldwide collection on its first day. In India, the film’s first-day collection surpassed that of 90% of Bollywood films released this year. The movie was released on 3000 screens across India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English. The English version received the best response, followed by the Hindi version, while South Indian languages contributed a limited amount. Tamil and Telugu audiences generally prefer Hollywood films in their original English language, leading to the South Indian language versions earning only ₹1 crore on the first day.
On its first day, “Deadpool & Wolverine” accumulated an India net collection of ₹11 crore 50 lakh from its English version and approximately ₹7 crore 50 lakh from its Hindi version. The total first-day India net collection across all four languages is ₹20 crore, with an India gross collection of ₹24 crore. According to early estimates from major Hollywood websites, the film earned approximately 130 million dollars in the worldwide market on its first day, which converts to roughly ₹1090 crore in Indian currency. With a budget of 200 million dollars (approximately ₹1675 crore), the film successfully grossed over ₹1000 crore on its very first day globally.

Despite a reduction in screens, the film is expected to achieve decent earnings in its fifth week across all five languages. Made on a budget exceeding ₹600 crore, “Kalki” recorded record-breaking earnings on its first day and continued its strong performance in the first week. By the end of its second, third, and fourth weeks, the film had already surpassed ₹900 crore in box office earnings.
