Mahavtar Narasimha Box Office Performance
The historical action animation drama film Mahavtar Narasimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar, received a slow start at the box office on its opening day. However, good reviews led to increasing audience interest, resulting in record-breaking earnings day by day. The film’s daily collections have surpassed its opening day earnings. Though it is a Kannada film, Mahavtar Narasimha was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The majority of its collections are currently coming from Hindi, with strong earnings also observed in Telugu and Karnataka.
Regarding its total box office collection over seven days, Mahavtar Narasimha garnered an India net collection of ₹29 crore 55 lakh within its first five days across all languages. The film maintained a good hold on the sixth day, collecting ₹7 crore 61 lakh. While morning shows on the seventh day showed good occupancy, the release of new South Indian films led to a reduction in screens and a slight dip in collections compared to the previous day. As per reports, Mahavtar Narasimha is collecting an India net of ₹6 crore 50 lakh on its seventh day. This brings the film’s total India net collection over the initial seven days to ₹43 crore 66 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹51 crore 95 lakh. Produced on a budget of ₹30 crore, the film has already earned over ₹50 crore at the Indian box office. Mahavtar Narasimha was released in overseas markets today, and its worldwide box office collections will include overseas earnings from tomorrow.
Kingdom’s Blockbuster First Day Collection
The action-drama film Kingdom, directed by Gautam, features Vijay Devakonda, Bhagyashree, and Satyadev in its lead cast. This Telugu film was released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. It is known as Kingdom in Telugu and Tamil, and Samrajya in the Hindi market. Despite minimal Hindi promotion and fewer screens in the Hindi market, the film has achieved historic collections in Tamil and Telugu. Hindi market collections have not been significant. The film’s Hindi screens are expected to be fully removed after the release of Son of Sardar 2 and Dhadak 2.
Kingdom was released globally across approximately 3000 screens in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film’s total budget, including promotions, stands at ₹130 crore. Before its theatrical release, Kingdom had already generated substantial revenue through various rights. Its digital rights were sold to Netflix for ₹50 crore (all languages), satellite rights for ₹24 crore (all languages), and music rights for ₹11 crore. This amounts to a pre-release recovery of ₹85 crore from digital, satellite, and music rights alone. The theatrical rights also exceeded ₹50 crore, placing the producers in a safe zone. The film received a strong pre-release buzz due to a positive response to its teaser and trailer, and Anirudh’s music, which resulted in blockbuster songs.
On its first day, Kingdom received a blockbuster opening at the box office. Morning show occupancy was excellent in Telugu states and decent in the Tamil version, but the Hindi market showed poor performance. Reports indicate that Kingdom achieved an India net collection of ₹21 crore 50 lakh on its first day, with an India gross collection of ₹25 crore 56 lakh. The film also received a strong response in overseas markets, including premiere shows and its first day of release. Kingdom collected approximately ₹12.5 crore from the overseas market on its first day. Consequently, the film’s first-day worldwide box office collection totals ₹38 crore 6 lakh, marking Vijay Devakonda’s highest opening to date.
Son of Sardar 2 Advance Booking Report
The comedy family romantic film Son of Sardar 2 stars Ajay Devgan, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Deepak Dobriyal, Sharad Saxena, Chunky Pandey, the late Mukesh Dev, and Vindu Dara Singh. Initially scheduled for release last week, its release date was postponed by one week due to the success of Sayara. The film is now set to release tomorrow, August 1st. Ajay Devgan has already delivered a major blockbuster with Red 2 this year, and expectations are high for Son of Sardar 2 to also perform strongly at the box office.
However, Son of Sardar 2 has been allotted fewer screens due to the simultaneous release of Dhadak 2 and Sayara‘s continued hold on a significant number of screens in its third week. This suggests that Son of Sardar 2 may not achieve a very large opening at the box office. As for its advance booking, the film’s first-day bookings across India have reached ₹3 crore 91 lakh. For the opening weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), the film’s advance bookings from all over India stand at ₹6 crore 61 lakh. In the overseas market, the film has recorded weekend advance bookings of ₹2 crore 43 lakh. Cumulatively, Son of Sardar 2‘s worldwide advance booking for its first three days (the opening weekend) has reached ₹9 crore 4 lakh.
Sayara Continues Strong Box Office Run
The musical romantic drama film Sayara, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Aahan Pandey and Adit Padda, was produced on a budget of ₹60 crore. Upon its release, it achieved the biggest opening of the year. The film received a super positive response from the public, leading to consistently blockbuster earnings. Sayara registered excellent collections in its first week, and its second-week earnings were notably higher than the first-week collections of many major Bollywood superstar films released this year.
After completing two weeks, Sayara continues to fill cinema halls. It is anticipated that the film will provide strong competition to new releases in its third week, and its third-week collections may even surpass those of newly released films this week. The film has now been in cinemas for 14 days. While Sayara‘s screens were slightly reduced today due to the Hindi release of Vijay Devakonda’s Kingdom, its morning show occupancy remained quite good, similar to yesterday. Afternoon, evening, and night show bookings have also been decent.
According to reports, Sayara is making an India net collection of approximately ₹7 crore 50 lakh on its 14th day, which is a strong earning for that day. This brings Sayara‘s total India net collection over the initial 14 days to ₹86 crore 40 lakh. The film’s India gross collection stands at ₹340 crore 81 lakh for the same period. In overseas markets, Sayara continues to achieve excellent day-to-day collections and is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark very soon. Its overseas gross collections have so far reached ₹97 crore 50 lakh. Combining all figures, Sayara‘s worldwide box office collection over 14 days totals ₹438 crore 31 lakh. It is projected that the film’s worldwide collection will reach ₹500 crore within four or five days.
