Leo made history in just eight days, shattering previous box office records to become the highest-grossing film in both Thalaivar Vijay’s and director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s careers. The action-packed film, released last Thursday, has now completed one week in cinemas.
Eight-Day Worldwide Box Office Performance
Leo’s total worldwide gross collection over the first eight days has reached an impressive ₹519 crore. This includes a total gross collection of ₹168 crore from overseas markets.
India Box Office Collection Highlights
The film, produced with a budget of ₹300 crore, was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Leo showcased a powerful performance across all South Indian languages, with collections considered among the highest for a South film this year.
Hindi Market Collections
Despite minimal promotion and fewer screens in the Hindi market, Leo made a surprising impact.
- First 5 Days (Hindi Net Collection): ₹13 crore 40 lakh
- Day 6 (Hindi Net Collection): ₹2 crore 60 lakh
- Day 7 (Hindi Net Collection): ₹1 crore 51 lakh
- Day 8 (Hindi Net Collection – Estimated): Approximately ₹1 crore 30 lakh
This brings Leo’s total eight-day Hindi net collection to ₹18 crore 81 lakh, with a Hindi gross collection of ₹22 crore 38 lakh. The film has earned a “Superhit” tag in the Hindi market.
All-India Net Collections (All Five Languages)
- First 5 Days (India Net Collection): More than ₹230 crore
- Day 6 (India Net Collection): ₹32 crore 70 lakh (boosted by Dussehra)
- Day 7 (India Net Collection): ₹18 crore 50 lakh (significant drop in collections)
- Day 8 (India Net Collection – Estimated): ₹13 crore 50 lakh
With these figures, the total eight-day All-India net collection for Leo is more than ₹295 crore. The India gross collection stands at ₹351 crore. The film has reportedly crossed the ₹3500 crore mark from India alone in terms of gross collection.
Box Office Trends and Comparisons
Leo surpassed the lifetime collection of the blockbuster film ‘Vikram’ in just eight days. The morning shows on Day 8 saw a 12 to 15 percent drop in occupancy compared to Day 7, and bookings for Day 8 were also considerably lower. Despite this, the film continues its strong run. It is expected that Leo will maintain its robust box office performance through its second weekend, particularly on Saturday and Sunday, and will continue to collect well across all five languages until the release of Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’.
