Pushpa 2 Box Office: A Record-Breaking Start
Pushpa 2’s record-breaking earnings have accelerated. On its first day, the film surpassed all Indian cinema films at the box office. Pushpa 2’s collections were sensational on the second day. By the third day, Pushpa 2 crossed the lifetime box office collection of 95% of Bollywood films. Excluding 10-12 top Bollywood films, Pushpa 2’s three-day collection has already exceeded the lifetime earnings of all other Bollywood films. Pushpa 2 is also soon expected to cross the lifetime box office collections of Baahubali 2 and Dangal, two of Indian cinema’s highest-grossing films.
Pushpa 2 Sets New Opening Day Benchmarks
Made on a budget of 500 crore, Pushpa 2 was released in six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali. The film was released on 12,500 screens worldwide, making it the most widely released film in the history of Indian cinema. Pushpa 2 secured the biggest opening in Indian cinema by surpassing RRR, which earned 223 crore on its first day. Pushpa 2’s First Day Worldwide Box Office Collection was in the range of 300 crore. This set a record that may be challenged by future releases like War 2, KGF 3, or Baahubali 3.
Pushpa 2 Hindi Box Office Performance
Pushpa 2’s collections in the Hindi market significantly surpassed expectations. Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawan held the record for the biggest Hindi opening with a first-day collection of over 65 crore. However, Pushpa 2’s First Day Hindi Net Collection was 72 crore, breaking Jawan’s record and demolishing all Indian cinema’s opening day records in Hindi. The Hindi theater rights for Pushpa 2 were sold for 200-220 crore. To be considered a ‘Hit’ in the Hindi market, the film needs a minimum net collection of 300 crore. For ‘Superhit,’ it needs 350 crore, and for ‘Blockbuster,’ 400 crore. If the film achieves a Hindi net collection of 450-500 crore, it would be an ‘All Time Blockbuster’ in Hindi alone. Given the strong response over the first three days, the film’s Hindi collection is projected to reach a minimum of 600-700 crore.
Pushpa 2 Day-Wise Hindi Net Collections
On its first day, Pushpa 2 achieved a Hindi Net Collection of 72 crore. The film’s second-day Hindi Net Collection was 55 crore. On its third day, which was a Saturday, Pushpa 2 saw an improved response compared to the second day. Morning shows had occupancy similar to Day 2, but afternoon, evening, and night show bookings were record-breaking, similar to Day 1. The estimated Hindi Net Collection for the third day is approximately 60 crore. This brings Pushpa 2’s total three-day Hindi Net Collection to 187 crore. The Hindi Gross Collection for three days stands at 224 crore. If the positive trend continues, Pushpa 2 is expected to achieve ‘Super Duper Hit’ status in the Hindi market within four days.
Pushpa 2 All India Net Collections Across Languages
Across all languages, Pushpa 2’s First Day All India Net Collection was 181 crore 78 lakh. On the second day, while the Hindi market showed a strong response, Telugu maintained a strong hold, but collections in Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil saw a slight drop from expectations. This resulted in an All India Net Collection of 116 crore 12 lakh on Day 2. However, with Saturday, collections saw significant growth across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, similar to Hindi. In the Telugu states, Day 3 occupancy matched approximately 90% of Day 1. Occupancy in Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada also significantly improved on Day 3. The estimated All India Net Collection for Pushpa 2 on its third day is over 121-125 crore across all languages.
Pushpa 2 Grand Worldwide Box Office Collection
In its initial three days, Pushpa 2’s total India Net Collection across all languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali) reached 423 crore 65 lakh. The India Gross Collection for the same period is 504 crore 1 lakh, indicating the film crossed the 500 crore mark in the Indian market within three days. The overseas collection for Pushpa 2 stands at 152 crore 29 lakh, surpassing 150 crore internationally. Consequently, Pushpa 2’s total three-day Worldwide Box Office Collection has reached 656 crore 42 lakh.
Pushpa 2 Future Box Office Projections
Having earned over 650 crore worldwide in three days, Pushpa 2’s worldwide box office collection is expected to surpass 750 crore by the end of its fourth day. Projections suggest that the film’s worldwide box office collection is highly likely to cross the 1000 crore mark within one week. The potential lifetime box office collection for Pushpa 2 is speculated to be between 1200-1500 crore or even 1700-2000 crore.
