Pushpa 2 Box Office: A Worldwide Phenomenon
Allu Arjun’s mega-blockbuster film Pushpa 2 has crossed the 1700 crore mark worldwide, with its earnings continuing. The film has demolished all Indian box office records, with its collections remaining historic. Initially, expectations for its box office collection were around 1000 crore, but Pushpa 2 has already surpassed 1700 crore globally and continues to earn as if it were just released. Despite having fewer shows and screens across multiple languages, its collections remain impressive, leading to expectations of increased screen counts in the coming days, especially in the Hindi market where it shows significant growth.
The film, released on September 5th, has completed 23 days in cinemas. Produced in Telugu, Pushpa 2 was dubbed and released in six languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali. In its first week, the film recorded the biggest opening for Indian cinema worldwide, and its Hindi version achieved the highest first-day collection compared to all Bollywood films. It continued with record-breaking earnings in its second week and excellent collections in the third week. In its fourth week, Pushpa 2 is outperforming Varun Dhawan’s Baby Zone, released this week, which is expected to lead to an increase in Pushpa 2‘s screen count in the Hindi version.
Pushpa 2 Hindi Collections
Pushpa 2 amassed a Hindi net collection of 715 crore 75 lakh within 20 days. On its 21st day, coinciding with Christmas, the film saw a significant jump, collecting 15 crore 50 lakh in Hindi. The 22nd day maintained a strong hold, earning 7 crore 75 lakh from its Hindi version. On its 23rd day, Pushpa 2 reported collections of approximately 8 crore in the Hindi market, showing an improvement over the 22nd day. This brings Pushpa 2‘s total Hindi net collection over 23 days to 747 crore, with a Hindi gross collection of 885 crore.
Pushpa 2 All Language Worldwide Collections
The film’s South Indian language collections saw a dip after three weeks due to new releases but are now showing a resurgence as many recent South Indian films have not performed well. This has led to an increase in Pushpa 2‘s screen count in the South, anticipating significant collections in these languages once again.
Pushpa 2 recorded a worldwide collection of 621 crore in just three days. Its global collection reached 829 crore in four days and 922 crore in five days. It was the first Indian cinema film to cross 1000 crore worldwide in just six days. By its 11th day, the film collected an impressive 1409 crore, and by its 14th day (two weeks), its worldwide collection surpassed the 1500 crore mark. Upon completing three weeks (21 days), Pushpa 2 had amassed a record-breaking 1705 crore worldwide. On its 22nd day, the film collected 14 crore globally. For its 23rd day, Pushpa 2 is estimated to earn approximately 16.5 crore worldwide, driven by improved occupancy across all languages. This brings Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2‘s total worldwide box office collection over 23 days to 1735 crore. The film is expected to cross 1750 crore worldwide soon and is projected to surpass Baahubali 2‘s final worldwide box office collection of 1811 crore within three to four days. Pushpa 2 is confirmed to cross 2000 crore at the box office.
Max Box Office: Kichcha Sudeep’s Strong Performance
Kichcha Sudeep’s film Max registered this year’s biggest opening for the Kannada industry. The film maintained a good hold on its second and third days at the box office. Max has been in cinemas for three days. Initially released only in Kannada, the film expanded its release to Telugu from today, with expectations of significant growth in collections. With a budget of 60 crore, Max is anticipated to be a major blockbuster, having maintained a strong hold despite its second and third days being working days following a holiday. Upcoming holidays are expected to bring a substantial jump in its earnings.
On its first day, Max recorded an All India Net collection of 9 crore 25 lakh, marking the biggest opening for a Kannada film this year. The second day saw a drop in collections, with the film earning 5 crore 15 lakh (All India Net). However, on its third day, Max is estimated to achieve an India Net collection of approximately 5.5 crore, showing slightly better occupancy compared to the previous day. This brings Max‘s initial three-day India Net collection to 19 crore 90 lakh, with an India Gross collection of 23 crore 68 lakh. The film’s three-day worldwide box office collection stands at 27 crore 45 lakh, which are considered excellent earnings given its budget. Max is projected to become a 100 crore film for Kichcha Sudeep.
Baby Zone Box Office Performance: Opening Weekend Drop
Varun Dhawan’s Baby Zone, released this week, received a good opening on its first day but experienced a significant drop in collections on its second and third days. The film, considered the last Bollywood release of 2024, was expected to be a big blockbuster. Its first day benefited from the Christmas holiday, securing a good opening at the box office. However, collections on the second and third days were lower than anticipated. With upcoming holidays including Saturday (half holiday) and Sunday (full holiday), the film is expected to see a boost in collections over the next two days, and New Year holidays could also contribute to growth. Despite its high budget, Baby Zone‘s two-day collections were somewhat low.
On its first day, Baby Zone achieved an India Net collection of 6 crore 25 lakh, which was slightly below expectations but still a decent opening. On the second day, the film’s India Net collection dropped to only 4 crore 95 lakh, a surprising figure given initial expectations of 7-8 crore. For its third day, Baby Zone is estimated to collect approximately 5.5 crore (India Net), showing a slight improvement in occupancy compared to the previous day. Thus, Varun Dhawan’s Baby Zone‘s initial three-day India Net collection totals 16 crore 70 lakh, with an India Gross collection of 25 crore 82 lakh. The film collected 6 crore 73 lakh from overseas markets over two days. This brings Baby Zone‘s total three-day worldwide box office collection to 32 crore 55 lakh. The film’s three-day collection is equivalent to what was expected in two days.
