Alia Arjun’s mega blockbuster film Pushpa 2 has entered its third week in cinemas, with its box office collections consistently breaking records. Despite the release of numerous new films from Bollywood, Hollywood, and South cinema this week, Pushpa 2‘s collections remain higher than all new releases. The film’s collections have been historic since its release. Pushpa 2 made record-breaking earnings in its first week and delivered powerful collections across all languages in its second week. Surprisingly, even with multiple new film releases this week and initial screen reductions, Pushpa 2 continues to earn significantly more than all new films.
Pushpa 2 Worldwide and All Language Box Office Collections
Pushpa 2, released on December 5th, has completed 17 days in cinemas. The film’s 17th-day box office collections alone surpass the combined collections of all films released this week. Pushpa 2 was released in six languages: Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Hindi. While the Bengali, Tamil, and Kannada versions performed remarkably, the Malayalam version’s collections were slightly below expectations.
For its first week, which spanned eight days, Pushpa 2 recorded an India net collection of 811 crore 46 lakh across all languages. In its second week, the film added 300 crore 62 lakh to its India net collection across all languages. On its 16th day, Pushpa 2 collected 17 crore 50 lakh across all languages. The 17th day, a Saturday, saw an improved occupancy in South languages, with solid bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows. Based on reports, Pushpa 2 is estimated to collect 25 crore net across all languages on its 17th day. This brings the film’s total all-India net collection for the first 17 days to 1124 crore 58 lakh, with an India gross collection of 1383 crore 25 lakh. The film’s worldwide box office collection for the first 17 days stands at a remarkable 1583 crore. By Sunday, the film is expected to surpass the 1600 crore mark globally. The film’s lifetime box office collection is projected to exceed 22000 crore, aiming to surpass Baahubali 2‘s worldwide collection of 1810 crore.
Pushpa 2 Hindi Box Office Performance
In the Hindi market, Pushpa 2 has completely dominated, with its Hindi collections already surpassing all Bollywood films. The film’s first week, which was eight days long due to its Thursday release, saw a Hindi net collection of 433 crore 50 lakh. The second week’s Hindi net collection was approximately 199 crore, close to 200 crore. Despite screen reductions in the third week, Pushpa 2 earned 11 crore 50 lakh in Hindi on its third Friday (16th day). On its 17th day, a Saturday, Pushpa 2 experienced better morning show occupancy and solid bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows in the Hindi belt, resulting in an estimated Hindi net collection of 16 crore. This brings Pushpa 2‘s total Hindi net collection for the first 17 days to 660 crore. It is anticipated that the film’s Hindi net collection will reach 700 crore within four to five days, potentially making Pushpa 2 the first Indian cinema film to achieve a net collection of 700 crore in the Hindi market. The Hindi gross collection has already reached 881 crore, indicating that the film, whose Hindi theatrical rights were sold for 200 crore, is a mega blockbuster in the Hindi market.
Mufasa: The Lion King India Box Office Report
The Hollywood film Mufasa: The Lion King was released in India across 1500 screens in four languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and English. The film received a bumper opening due to the existing franchise craze and the involvement of Shah Rukh Khan (Hindi dub) and Mahesh Babu (Telugu dub). Despite limited marketing for its Hindi version, which was released on barely 200 screens, the film received good reviews from Hindi audiences. UI delivered strong collections in its South versions and received a positive response. On its first day, the film collected an all-India net collection of 9 crore 72 lakh across all languages. The second day saw a slight drop in occupancy outside Karnataka compared to the first day, with an estimated net collection of approximately 8 crore 50 lakh in India. Consequently, UI‘s total all-India net collection for the first two days is 18 crore 42 lakh, with an India gross collection of 21 crore 93 lakh. The film’s worldwide box office collection for the first two days is approximately 23 crore. The film is expected to see growth in its collections in the coming days and has the potential to become a superhit.
Vanvas Box Office Collection: Facing Competition
The Bollywood film Vanvas, with a budget of 50 crore, faced significant challenges at the box office due to the strong performance of Pushpa 2. The film’s collections were less than expected. On its first day, Vanvas collected only 1 crore 23 lakh. The second day showed a slight growth in occupancy compared to the first day, with an estimated collection of approximately 1 crore 60 lakh. This brings Vanvas‘s total box office collection for the first two days to 2 crore 83 lakh.
