Red 2 Box Office: A Big Blockbuster Run Continues
Superstar Ajay Devgan’s “Red 2” has emerged as a big blockbuster at the box office. The film recorded record-breaking collections in its first week, and its earnings in the second week are even more explosive. “Red 2” was released worldwide on 5000 screens. A key factor in its continued strong performance is the absence of new Bollywood competition in its second week, with films like “Bhoochuk Maaf” being postponed to an OTT release. This has allowed “Red 2” to maintain a strong hold at the box office, with expectations of a significant surge in collections on Saturday and Sunday.
The film, made on a budget of ₹55 crore, crossed over ₹100 crore worldwide in its first week, proving to be a superhit. For its first seven days, “Red 2” garnered an All India Net collection of ₹93 crore 56 lakh. On its eighth day, the film earned ₹5 crore 29 lakh from the Indian market. Despite a slight drop in occupancy on its ninth day compared to the previous day, “Red 2” collected ₹4 crore 85 lakh from the Indian market.
With these figures, “Red 2” has achieved an initial nine-day India Net collection of ₹103 crore 70 lakh, successfully crossing the ₹100 crore mark in India Net collections. The India Gross collection stands at ₹123 crore 40 lakh. In the overseas market, “Red 2” has earned ₹17 crore 68 lakh. Cumulatively, the nine-day worldwide box office collection for “Red 2” has reached ₹141 crore 8 lakh, earning over ₹141 crore globally. Expectations are high for the film to achieve a ‘blockbuster’ tag, with predictions for a final worldwide collection potentially exceeding ₹250 crore, which would be five times its budget.
Retro Movie Box Office: 9-Day Worldwide Collections
Soor’s “Retro,” directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is a Tamil film released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Currently, the film is running solely in Tamil Nadu, as its Hindi shows have been entirely removed and Telugu screenings were stopped after the first week. Despite this, “Retro” continues to register daily collections in crores. After nine days in cinemas, “Retro” had an India Net collection of ₹64 crore 78 lakh in its initial eight days. On its ninth day, due to the release of new Tamil films and a subsequent reduction in screen count, the film collected ₹2 crore 25 lakh India Net.
The nine-day India Net collection for “Retro” now stands at ₹67 crore 3 lakh. The India Gross collection is ₹79 crore 76 lakh. The total nine-day worldwide box office collection for the film is ₹110 crore 90 lakh. With a budget of ₹70 crore, “Retro” has earned over ₹110 crore worldwide, marking it a success movie at the box office.
Hit 3 Box Office: Nani’s Film Achieves Superhit Status
Natural Star Nani’s “Hit 3,” featuring Nani and Sree Nidhi Shetty, is a Telugu film also released in Tamil, Hindi, and other South Indian languages. The movie is in its second week of theatrical run. Despite new Telugu films releasing this week, which led to a reduction in screen count in its home market (Telugu states), “Hit 3” continues to perform. The film’s occupancy on its ninth day remained quite good, similar to the previous day, with decent bookings for evening and night shows.
With a budget of ₹80 crore, “Hit 3” had already earned over ₹100 crore in its first week. The film’s All India Net collection across all languages for the initial eight days was ₹70 crore 52 lakh. On its ninth day, “Hit 3” recorded an India Net collection of ₹2 crore 50 lakh.

The film has achieved a splendid worldwide earning of ₹114 crore 47 lakh to date. Having earned over ₹114 crore worldwide against its ₹80 crore budget, Nani’s “Hit 3” has become a superhit movie at the box office.
The Bhootni Box Office Performance: Second Week Holding
Sanjay Dutt’s horror-comedy film, “The Bhootni,” was released last week with a limited screen count of just 750 worldwide. This resulted in first-week collections that were lower than anticipated. However, the film retained its original screen count in its second week due to the non-release of the anticipated Bollywood film “Bhoochuk Maaf,” allowing “The Bhootni” to maintain its position at the box office.
The film’s box office collections are considered acceptable in relation to its ₹25 crore budget, though higher expectations might have been set for a Sanjay Dutt film. “The Bhootni” collected ₹8 crore 58 lakh India Net in its initial seven days. On its eighth day, the film earned ₹72 lakh from the Indian box office. The occupancy on the ninth day saw only a minor drop of 3 to 4% compared to the previous day, with the film earning ₹65 lakh in the Indian market.
The initial nine-day India Net collection for “The Bhootni” is ₹9 crore 95 lakh. The India Gross collection stands at ₹11 crore 84 lakh. Its nine-day worldwide box office collection has reached ₹12 crore 56 lakh. The movie has earned approximately half of its budget worldwide so far, with expectations of a slight increase in collections over the upcoming Saturday and Sunday.
