Sayara Box Office Debut: Breaking Records
Sayara made a remarkable impact at the box office, achieving what no Bollywood film had in the last 25 years. On its opening day, Sayara surpassed the collections of films starring major superstars like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Sunny Deol.
Advance Booking & Screen Count
The film’s advance booking commenced four days prior to its release, showing exceptional performance. Sayara’s advance booking collections outpaced those of Akshay Kumar’s “Housefull Five,” Sunny Deol’s “Jaat,” Ajay Devgn’s “Raid 2,” and even Salman Khan’s “Sikander.” Sayara was released globally across 2500 screens. In the overseas market, the film opened on more than 500 screens.
Sayara Budget & Pre-Release Revenue
The production budget for Sayara was ₹45 crore, with an additional ₹15 crore spent on marketing, bringing the total budget for film making and promotion to ₹60 crore. Prior to its release, the film generated significant revenue from various rights. The digital rights for Sayara were sold for ₹25 crore. Satellite rights fetched ₹8 crore, and music rights were valued at ₹12 crore. This pre-release recovery totaled ₹45 crore, covering the entire production cost before the film even hit theaters. The remaining ₹15 crore spent on promotion was expected to be recovered from box office earnings.
Day 1 Occupancy Report
On its first day, Sayara garnered impressive occupancy rates, particularly in metro cities like Mumbai and Delhi. Morning shows reported occupancies ranging from 55% to 60%, with some areas seeing 70%, 90%, and even 100% occupancy despite it not being a holiday or festival. Across multiplex and single-screen cinemas, morning shows generally achieved 50% to 60% occupancy. Afternoon, evening, and night shows also saw strong bookings.
Sayara First Day Box Office Collections
Sayara recorded an India net collection of ₹21 crore 50 lakh on its first day. This figure surpassed initial expectations, which had predicted an opening of ₹12 crore and a lifetime collection not exceeding ₹20 crore. The first day India gross collection for Sayara stood at ₹25 crore 58 lakh. From the overseas market, the film earned approximately ₹3.5 crore on its opening day. The first day worldwide box office collection for Sayara totaled ₹29 crore 8 lakh. With a total budget of ₹60 crore, the film earned in the range of ₹9 crore from around the world on its very first day.
Box Office Outlook and Trends
Following a strong opening day driven by initial hype, an increase in collection is anticipated over the upcoming Saturday and Sunday. However, the film’s continued box office performance will depend on audience reception. If the film is well-received, collections are expected to rise; otherwise, there could be a decline in the coming days.
