Hanuman Box Office Advance Booking Update

The Pan India film Hanuman, directed by Prashanth Varma and starring Teja Sajja, is set to release on January 12th in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film faces significant screen challenges in its main Telugu market due to the release of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram on the same day. However, makers are optimistic the film will increase its screen count over time and perform well in Hindi.

Advance booking for Hanuman began three to four days ago in the overseas market and yesterday in India. The film has collected ₹1 crore 12 lakh from overseas advance bookings. In India, bookings stand at ₹1 crore 37 lakh. This brings Hanuman’s worldwide advance booking to a total of ₹2 crore 49 lakh. With three days remaining until release, full advance bookings are expected to begin this evening, potentially leading to a significant jump in collections.

Guntur Kaaram Advance Booking & Opening Projections

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s film Guntur Kaaram, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, is also releasing on January 12th. This film will be released exclusively in a single language, Telugu, with no Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, or Kannada versions. The film’s trailer received a blockbuster response, becoming the most-viewed trailer in South India within 24 hours.

Guntur Kaaram’s overseas advance bookings commenced approximately a week ago, garnering ₹8 crore 15 lakh. Limited India advance bookings started yesterday in Bengaluru, collecting ₹2 crore 92 lakh. The film’s worldwide advance booking has reached ₹11 crore 7 lakh based on limited bookings. With full advance bookings set to open across India this evening, a substantial increase in collections is anticipated. The film is projected to achieve an ₹80-90 crore opening on its first day, surpassing the hype of Mahesh Babu’s previous film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which earned over ₹70 crore worldwide.

Dunki 20-Day Worldwide Box Office Collection

Shah Rukh Khan’s film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and made on a budget of ₹120 crore, completed 20 days in cinemas since its release on December 21, 2023. The film’s earnings are considered strong relative to its budget. While different from Shah Rukh Khan’s previous action blockbusters like Jawan and Pathaan, which had budgets of ₹250-300 crore and earned over ₹1000 crore, Dunki, a social drama with some comedy, has shown commendable performance with a budget less than half of those films.

Dunki’s 20-day Box Office Collection details are as follows:

  • Initial 18-day All India Net Collection: ₹222 crore 79 lakh
  • Day 19 (yesterday) India Net Collection: ₹1 crore 76 lakh
  • Day 20 (today) India Net Collection: ₹1 crore 50 lakh (estimated)
  • Total 20-day India Net Collection: ₹225 crore 29 lakh
  • India Gross Collection: ₹268 crore 54 lakh
  • Overseas Market Total Collection: ₹187 crore 50 lakh
  • Total 20-day Worldwide Box Office Collection: ₹456 crore 4 lakh

The film has been declared a Super Hit at the box office, with expectations for its final collection to potentially reach ₹500 crore.
