Salaar Box Office Collection Day 8: Worldwide Figures and Prabhas’ Impact

Salaar Box Office Collection Day 8: Worldwide Figures and Prabhas' Impact

Salaar’s Second Week Box Office Performance

Superstar Prabhas’s film Salaar continues its strong run at the box office. The film achieved massive earnings in its first week. As it enters its second week, Salaar maintains strong collections despite facing competition from new releases. Initially, the film faced challenges in securing screens in the Hindi market (North India) due to the release of Dunki, leading to a slow start in that region. However, Salaar’s box office collections in the Hindi market are currently surpassing Dunki. Its worldwide box office collections across all languages are remarkable. The film is performing exceptionally well in both its Telugu and Hindi versions. Although Salaar’s screens in Kannada and Telugu languages have been reduced starting today due to new Telugu and Kannada film releases, its Hindi screens remain unchanged. Despite these screen reductions, Salaar has demonstrated a powerful start to its second week.

Salaar Eight-Day Worldwide Collections

Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The film secured the biggest opening for Indian cinema in 2023 on its first day. Within three days, it accumulated over ₹200 crore. Salaar’s first day India net collection stood at ₹107 crore. Over its initial seven days, or the first week, the film recorded an all-India net collection of ₹378 crore 65 lakh. For its eighth day, early reports indicate Salaar is collecting an India net collection of ₹12 crore 50 lakh. This brings the initial eight-day all-India net collection for Salaar to ₹391 crore 15 lakh. The India gross collection totals ₹465 crore 25 lakh. From overseas markets, the film has garnered a total of ₹135 crore. Consequently, Salaar’s worldwide box office collection after eight days is approximately ₹600 crore, based on early estimates. The film is expected to continue strong earnings over the upcoming three days, including Saturday, Sunday, and the New Year holiday. Projections suggest its worldwide collection could reach between ₹750 crore and ₹800 crore by January 1st.

Dunki’s Box Office Run and Comparisons

Rajkumar Hirani’s film Dunki, a comedy-drama, was released on Wednesday, December 21st, and has now completed nine days in cinemas, marking the beginning of its second week. The film had a decent opening. However, its box office collections were lower compared to previous films like Jawan and Pathaan, which had budgets of ₹300-350 crore, whereas Dunki’s budget was ₹120 crore. Despite this, Dunki has shown good earnings in India during its initial nine days, and its overseas collections have also been strong.

Dunki Nine-Day Worldwide Earnings

Dunki recorded an all-India net collection of more than ₹155.52 crore in its first seven days. On its eighth day, the film earned ₹9 crore 35 lakh. Reports for the ninth day indicate an India net collection of ₹8 crore 50 lakh. This brings Dunki’s initial nine-day all-India net collection to ₹169 crore 86 lakh. The film’s India gross collection stands at ₹202 crore. From the overseas market, Dunki has collected ₹134 crore 65 lakh. Therefore, the film’s total worldwide box office collection in its initial nine days is ₹337 crore 12 lakh. Dunki is anticipated to achieve excellent earnings over the next three days, including Saturday, Sunday, and the New Year holiday.

Animal’s Extended Box Office Success

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal, released on December 1st, enjoyed strong earnings for four weeks and has now entered its fifth week. The film’s budget was ₹135 crore, and it achieved an opening of more than ₹100 crore worldwide on its first day. Animal was released in five languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. It ran for three weeks without competition, resulting in impressive collections. In its fourth week, despite the release of Dunki and Salaar, which led to fewer screens, Animal still managed to earn well.

Animal’s Total Worldwide Collections to Date

Animal garnered an all-India net collection of ₹542 crore 2 lakh across all languages within its initial four weeks. On its fifth Friday, the film’s India net collection is approximately ₹80 lakh. This brings Animal’s total all-India net collection to roughly ₹543 crore. The India gross collection stands at ₹648 crore. The film’s total overseas collection so far is ₹234 crore. Cumulatively, Animal has earned ₹882 crore worldwide. With an additional ₹8 crore, the film’s final collection is projected to reach approximately ₹900 crore.
