Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office: ₹100 Cr Mark Crossed in Just 4 Days!

Sitare Zameen Par Box Office Performance

Superstar Aamir Khan’s film, “Sitare Zameen Par,” a comedy-drama sport film released on June 20, has not yet completed a full week in cinemas but has already earned 1.5 times its budget. Made with a budget of ₹80 crore, the film was released on 5000 screens worldwide, with 3200 screens in India on its first day. Currently, it is running on 3500 screens across India. Although the movie had a low opening on its first day, strong weekend collections followed due to positive public reviews. The film maintained a good hold on weekdays and appears set for a long run.

In terms of collections, “Sitare Zameen Par” garnered an India net collection of ₹65 crore 80 lakh in its initial four days across all three languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu). On its fifth day, the film added ₹8 crore 43 lakh to its Indian box office. Reports indicate that on its sixth day, the film is collecting approximately ₹7.5 crore India net, experiencing a 10-18% drop in occupancy compared to the previous day across all show timings. This brings the total India net collection for “Sitare Zameen Par” to ₹81 crore 73 lakh over six days. The India gross collection stands at ₹97 crore 25 lakh, with expectations to cross the ₹100 crore India gross mark soon. Additionally, the film has achieved a robust overseas gross collection of ₹33 crore 78 lakh. Its worldwide box office collection for the first six days totals ₹131 crore 3 lakh, exceeding its budget by more than ₹50 crore. The film is anticipated to achieve a lifetime worldwide collection of at least ₹200 crore. Notably, “Sitare Zameen Par” surpassed the lifetime box office collection of Aamir Khan’s previous film, “Laal Singh Chaddha,” in just five days. However, the upcoming releases of “Kanappa” and Kajol’s “Maa” in two days pose a challenge, potentially leading to fewer screens and reduced collections for “Sitare Zameen Par” in its second week.

Kuberra Worldwide Collections Update

The action-drama social thriller film “Kuberra,” starring Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna, has received super positive reviews since its release, leading to impressive weekend collections and a good hold on weekdays. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, this Tamil film was released in five languages (Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu) on 3500 screens worldwide. With a budget of ₹120 crore, the film has already grossed approximately its budget and yesterday crossed the ₹100 crore mark worldwide.

“Kuberra” accumulated an India net collection of ₹55 crore 34 lakh in its initial four days across all five languages. On its fifth day, the film earned ₹6 crore 22 lakh India net. As per current reports, the film’s occupancy today has dropped by at least 15% compared to yesterday, with bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows also being slightly lower. Consequently, “Kuberra” is estimated to collect ₹5 crore 25 lakh India net from all languages on its sixth day. This brings the film’s total all-India net collection for the first six days to ₹66 crore 81 lakh. The India gross collection stands at ₹79 crore 52 lakh. The worldwide box office collection for “Kuberra” after six days has reached ₹108 crore 76 lakh. Given its current performance, the film’s worldwide collection is projected to reach ₹170-180 crore or even ₹200 crore, positioning it as a major superhit. However, a significant number of Tamil and Telugu films releasing next week might impact its second-week collections.

Housefull 5 Continues Strong Box Office Run

Akshay Kumar’s comedy-thriller “Housefull 5,” released on June 6, has completed 20 days in cinemas and continues to perform strongly. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film, made on a budget of ₹225 crore, has now achieved a hit status at the box office. In its initial two weeks, the film faced no competition, leading to record-breaking collections. Despite the release of big films like “Sitare Zameen Par” and “Kuberra” in its third week, which reduced its screen count, “Housefull 5” has continued to amass significant collections on fewer screens.

The film’s India net collection for the first 18 days was ₹188 crore 99 lakh. On its 19th day, “Housefull 5” collected ₹1 crore 27 lakh India net, exceeding expectations. Positive reports indicate that the movie’s morning show occupancy today is 12-15% better than yesterday, with afternoon, evening, and night show bookings also significantly higher. As a result, “Housefull 5” is estimated to collect approximately ₹1 crore 50 lakh India net on its 20th day. This brings the film’s total India net collection for the first 20 days to ₹190 crore 86 lakh. The India gross collection stands at ₹227 crore 12 lakh. The film’s overseas collection has also been steadily increasing, reaching ₹57 crore 23 lakh. Cumulatively, the worldwide box office collection for “Housefull 5” after 20 days is ₹284 crore 33 lakh, significantly surpassing its budget of ₹225 crore.
