Metro In Dino Box Office Performance Update
The romantic drama film, Metro In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan alongside Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, was made on a budget of ₹100 crore. The film saw a slow start at the box office but experienced significant growth in its collections during the weekend. Despite Monday being a working day, Metro In Dino maintained a decent hold, suggesting it might survive for a week or two and potentially recover its budget.
Metro In Dino Day-Wise Collections and Total Earnings
Metro In Dino collected ₹10 crore 86 lakh in India net over its initial two days of release. On its third day, Sunday, the film showed strong growth, earning ₹7 crore 41 lakh in the Indian market. On its fourth day, Monday, occupancy saw a decline, which is common for Bollywood films. Based on morning show occupancy and advance bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows, Metro In Dino is estimated to collect approximately ₹2 crore 85 lakh on its fourth day at the Indian box office. This brings the film’s total India net collection for the first four days to ₹21 crore 12 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹25 crore 13 lakh. The overseas collection for Metro In Dino so far is ₹3 crore 97 lakh. Consequently, the film’s total worldwide box office collection for the first four days stands at ₹29 crore 10 lakh. Considering its ₹100 crore budget, the film’s four-day earnings are considered decent.
Sitare Zameen Par Continues Strong Run
The sport-comedy-drama film Sitare Zameen Par, featuring सुपरस्टार Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, with a budget of ₹80 crore, is currently in its third week in cinemas and continues to perform well. The film registered strong earnings in its first week and exceeded expectations in its second week. Despite a reduction in screens during the third week, the film performed robustly over the weekend. As a result of the underperformance of new releases, Sitare Zameen Par has seen an increase in its screen count.
Sitare Zameen Par Crosses Major Milestones
Aamir Khan’s Sitare Zameen Par had an India net collection of ₹141 crore 97 lakh over its first 16 days. On its third Sunday, the 17th day, the film earned ₹6 crore 28 lakh at the Indian box office. Despite Monday being a working day, the film maintained a good hold in occupancy, with decent morning show numbers and strong bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows. Reports indicate that Sitare Zameen Par is earning ₹2 crore 35 lakh on its 18th day at the Indian box office. With this, the film’s total India net collection for the first 18 days has reached ₹150 crore 60 lakh, surpassing the ₹150 crore mark in the Indian market. The film’s India gross collection stands at ₹179 crore 21 lakh. Furthermore, Sitare Zameen Par has recorded strong overseas earnings, with an overseas gross collection of over ₹54 crore to date. The cumulative worldwide box office collection for Sitare Zameen Par over 18 days is ₹233 crore 22 lakh. With a budget of ₹80 crore and worldwide earnings exceeding ₹233 crore, Sitare Zameen Par has been a major box office hit.
Dhurandhar Box Office Opening Predictions
Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, is scheduled for release on December 5. The film is expected to face competition from Prabhas’s Raja Saab. Despite this clash, Dhurandhar is predicted to secure at least 3,000 to 4,000 screens in India. Early predictions suggest Dhurandhar could achieve an India net collection of ₹35 crore on its first day. The India gross collection is projected to exceed ₹41 crore, with an overseas collection of ₹15-16 crore on day one. This would place Dhurandhar’s first-day worldwide box office collection in the range of ₹55-57 crore, at a minimum. If the film performs well, its lifetime earnings could potentially reach ₹500, ₹700, or even ₹800-900 crore.
Raja Saab Box Office Opening Predictions
Prabhas’s film Raja Saab, a romantic-comedy-horror movie directed by Maruthi, is also slated for a December 5 release, clashing with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Due to this clash, Raja Saab is expected to receive fewer screens in the Hindi market. However, it is anticipated to run across all theaters in the Telugu states, leading to record-breaking first-day collections there. Prabhas’s films typically collect ₹20-25 crore on their first day in Hindi. With the clash, Raja Saab is still predicted to earn at least ₹15 crore in the Hindi market on day one. Across all five languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada), the film is expected to achieve an India net collection of approximately ₹60 crore on its opening day. The India gross collection is estimated to be in the ₹70-71 crore range. Prabhas’s films historically perform strongly overseas, and Raja Saab is expected to collect at least ₹30 crore from the overseas market on its first day. Overall, Raja Saab is projected to achieve a worldwide box office collection of at least ₹100 crore on its opening day. While the clash with Dhurandhar might impact its Hindi market collections slightly, its earnings in overseas and Telugu states are expected to be record-breaking. If the film is well-received, it could potentially earn ₹1,000 crore, similar to Prabhas’s previous film, Kalki. Even if it doesn’t reach ₹1,000 crore, a collection of ₹500-700 crore is considered confirmed, given Prabhas’s star power, as even his less successful films have earned ₹400-500 crore.
