Mahavatar Narasimha Box Office Performance: A Blockbuster Run

“Mahavatar Narasimha,” directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Shilpa Dhawan, with backup from Umbali Films, made a slow start at the box office. However, as the film entered its third week, its collections continued to grow day by day. With a budget of ₹30 crore, the film has already grossed over ₹150 crore.

Released in five languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—”Mahavatar Narasimha” achieved an India Net Collection of ₹112 crore 80 lakh in its first 13 days across all languages. On its 14th day, the film added ₹5 crore 56 lakh to its Indian box office earnings. Despite an 8-9% drop in morning show occupancy on its 15th day compared to the previous day, the film is estimated to have collected ₹5 crore 25 lakh in the Indian market on its 15th day.

The total India Net Collection for “Mahavatar Narasimha” over 15 days stands at ₹123 crore 61 lakh. Its India Gross Collection for the same period is ₹148 crore 3 lakh. The worldwide box office collection for “Mahavatar Narasimha” after 15 days has reached ₹155 crore 16 lakh. Having earned over ₹155 crore worldwide against a ₹30 crore budget, the film has been declared a big blockbuster. Predictions suggest its final box office collection could potentially reach ₹200 crore.

Sayara Box Office: A Mega Blockbuster Journey

The musical romantic drama “Sayara,” directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahan Panday and Aneet Paddah, completed three weeks in cinemas and has now entered its fourth week. Despite a significant reduction in screen count due to new releases, the film continues to collect crores daily. With a budget of ₹60 crore, “Sayara” had already surpassed ₹500 crore in earnings. It is anticipated that the film’s lifetime collection could be ten times its budget.

Over its initial 20 days, “Sayara” garnered an India Net Collection of ₹312 crore 95 lakh. On its 21st day, the film earned ₹2 crore 15 lakh at the Indian box office. For its 22nd day, the film experienced a 10-12% drop in morning show occupancy compared to the previous day, with slight drops in afternoon, evening, and night show bookings. As a result, “Sayara” is estimated to collect ₹1 crore 80 lakh in the Indian market on its 22nd day.

The cumulative India Net Collection for “Sayara” over 22 days is ₹316 crore 90 lakh. Its India Gross Collection for the same period reached ₹385 crore 3 lakh. The total worldwide box office collection for “Sayara” after 22 days stands at ₹520 crore 51 lakh. With earnings exceeding ₹520 crore worldwide against a ₹60 crore budget, the film has proven to be a mega blockbuster. Further increases in collections are expected on the upcoming Saturday and Sunday.

Son of Sardar 2 Box Office: A Major Flop

The comedy-drama film “Son of Sardar 2,” directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and featuring a large ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, and others, had high expectations for a ₹30-40 crore opening and a first-week collection exceeding ₹200 crore. However, the film failed to achieve a significant opening or a major boost in collections during its opening weekend. During the weekdays, the film’s box office performance drastically declined.

As the film entered its second week, specifically its second Friday, collections were considerably lower. “Son of Sardar 2” recorded an India Net Collection of ₹32 crore 73 lakh in its initial six days. On its seventh day, the film earned ₹1 crore 81 lakh at the Indian box office. For its eighth day, the film saw a 15-20% drop in occupancy across all shows—morning, afternoon, evening, and night—compared to the previous day. Consequently, “Son of Sardar 2” is estimated to collect ₹1 crore 50 lakh in India Net Collection on its eighth day.

The total India Net Collection for “Son of Sardar 2” over eight days is ₹36 crore 4 lakh. Its India Gross Collection for the same period is ₹43 crore 22 lakh. The worldwide box office collection for the film after eight days stands at ₹51 crore 46 lakh. Despite crossing the ₹50 crore mark worldwide in eight days, “Son of Sardar 2” has been deemed a very big flop at the box office. Hopes remain for a potential increase in collections on the upcoming Saturday and Sunday.

Coolie Advance Booking: Strong Overseas Performance

The action-thriller film “Coolie,” directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan (in a cameo), Upendra, Sathyaraj, Sobin Sahir, and Shruti Haasan, is set for release on August 14th. The film will be released in four languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.

Overseas advance bookings for “Coolie” began a few days ago, specifically for Tamil and Telugu versions, receiving a fantastic response. This strong overseas performance suggests “Coolie” is poised for the biggest opening of 2025.

The first-day overseas advance booking collection for “Coolie” has reached $2.78 million, which converts to ₹24 crore 37 lakh in Indian currency. As the film releases on a Thursday, its opening weekend will span four days. For these initial four days (Thursday to Sunday), “Coolie” has garnered an overseas advance booking of $3.81 million, equivalent to ₹33 crore 42 lakh in Indian currency. With its release still days away, the film has already secured over ₹33 crore from overseas advance bookings. Indian box office advance bookings are expected to commence soon, with anticipation that the film will break numerous advance booking records in Tamil Nadu.

War 2 Advance Booking: Overseas Collections Taking Shape

“War 2,” a Bollywood film directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr. NTR, and Kiara Advani, is also scheduled for release on August 14th. While Indian box office advance bookings for “War 2” have not yet begun, overseas advance bookings started three to four days ago and have received a good response.

The film’s first-day overseas advance booking collection stands at $830,000, which is ₹5 crore 98 lakh in Indian currency. Similar to “Coolie,” “War 2” will also have a four-day opening weekend, releasing on a Thursday. The film’s initial four-day (weekend) overseas advance booking collection has reached $976,000, converting to ₹8 crore 56 lakh in Indian currency.

Although “War 2” has accumulated good earnings from overseas advance bookings with time remaining until its release, it is currently trailing behind “Coolie” in overseas advance booking figures. Expectations are high for the film’s Indian box office performance, particularly with Hrithik Roshan’s presence in the Hindi market and Jr. NTR’s appeal in the Telugu states, which are anticipated to break records upon the start of Indian bookings.
