The historical action animation drama film, Mahaavatar Narasimha, has commenced its third week in cinemas, demonstrating day-by-day record-breaking earnings. Released in five languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—the film’s Hindi version collections are projected to exceed ₹100 crore. Globally, its box office collections across all languages have already surpassed ₹150 crore.
After 16 days in cinemas, Mahaavatar Narasimha registered an India Net Collection of ₹118 crore 15 lakh within its first two weeks (14 days). Its third Friday (15th day) saw an Indian Box Office collection of ₹7 crore 98 lakh across all languages. On its 16th day (Saturday), while morning shows showed no significant growth in occupancy, afternoon, evening, and night show bookings were 40 to 60 percent higher than the previous day. The estimated India Net Collection for the 16th day is approximately ₹11.5 crore. This brings the film’s total India Net Collection over 16 days to ₹137 crore 63 lakh, with an India Gross Collection of ₹165 crore 12 lakh.
The film’s worldwide box office collection has now reached ₹171 crore 95 lakh, crossing the ₹170 crore mark. With a reported budget of ₹30 crore, Mahaavatar Narasimha is expected to surpass the ₹200 crore global milestone before the release of War 2 and Coolie, cementing its status as an all-time mega blockbuster with a projected lifetime collection of up to ₹200 crore.
Sayara’s Impressive ₹534 Crore Global Box Office
The music romantic drama film Sayara, with a budget of ₹60 crore, has already earned over ₹500 crore worldwide, and its collections continue to be strong. The film is currently in its fourth week in cinemas, despite a significant reduction in screen count.
After 23 days, Sayara has achieved an All India Net Collection of ₹315 crore within its first three weeks (21 days). Its fourth Friday (22nd day) added ₹1 crore 85 lakh to its Indian Box Office earnings. On its 23rd day (Saturday), morning shows exhibited slight growth compared to the previous day, while afternoon, evening, and night show bookings were notably stronger. The estimated India Net Collection for the 23rd day is approximately ₹3.5 crore. This pushes Sayara’s total All India Net Collection over 23 days to ₹320 crore 35 lakh, with an India Gross Collection of ₹390 crore 22 lakh.
In overseas markets, Sayara has outperformed all Indian films released this year, achieving an Overseas Gross Collection of ₹144 crore 96 lakh to date. This brings the film’s total worldwide collection over 23 days to ₹534 crore 18 lakh. With War 2 set to release in a few days, potentially leading to the film’s theatrical run concluding, its lifetime collection is anticipated to exceed ₹550 crore, marking it as a very big blockbuster.
Son of Sardaar 2 Box Office: A Disaster at ₹53 Crore Worldwide
The comedy-drama film Son of Sardaar 2 has faced significant disappointment at the box office. Its first-week collections were considerably below expectations, and the film showed no substantial growth during its second weekend, ultimately proving to be a big flop. The film has a remaining window of three to four days before the release of War 2 and Coolie, with an expected additional collection of at most ₹8 to ₹10 crore.
Over 9 days in cinemas, Son of Sardaar 2 recorded an India Net Collection of just ₹4 crore 26 lakh in its first week (seven days). Its second Friday (8th day) added ₹1 crore 48 lakh to its Indian Box Office earnings. On its 9th day (Saturday), no significant jump in occupancy was observed; morning shows even registered lower occupancy than the previous day, though afternoon, evening, and night show bookings were slightly better. The estimated Indian Box Office collection for the 9th day is ₹1 crore 75 lakh. This results in a total India Net Collection of ₹37 crore 49 lakh and an India Gross Collection of ₹44 crore 98 lakh over 9 days.
The film’s overseas performance has also been weak, with an Overseas Gross Collection of only ₹8 crore 63 lakh so far. Consequently, Son of Sardaar 2’s total worldwide box office collection after 9 days stands at ₹53 crore 61 lakh. Its lifetime collection is projected to settle around ₹60 crore, confirming its status as a big disaster at the box office.
Coolie Breaks Advance Booking Records Ahead of Release
The highly anticipated film Coolie is set for release on August 14th, with only four days remaining until its debut. Overseas advance booking for the film began 8-10 days prior, generating an excellent response. Indian advance booking commenced yesterday evening and has received a phenomenal response, suggesting the film is poised to secure this year’s biggest opening.
Coolie has been selling between 50 to 60 thousand tickets per hour since advance booking opened. Its advance booking earnings have set record-breaking figures in both India and internationally. As of now, the worldwide total advance booking collection for Coolie is as follows:
- India (Tamil Nadu): ₹9 crore 68 lakh

War 2’s Strong Overseas Advance Booking Performance
War 2, also scheduled for release on August 14th in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, saw its overseas advance booking commence four days ago. The response from overseas advance bookings has been considerably better than other Bollywood films released this year. The film’s first-day plus premieres advance booking collection has significantly increased today compared to yesterday, with weekend booking also showing a good jump.
The overseas advance booking collections for War 2 are notable:
- First Day Overseas Advance Booking Collection: $1.1 million (equivalent to ₹9 crore 81 lakh in Indian currency).
- Weekend (Four Days) Overseas Booking: $1.62 million (equivalent to ₹14 crore 10 lakh in Indian currency).
While the film’s weekend booking has been robust, attention is now turning to its Indian advance booking, which is set to begin on August 10th (Sunday). Expectations are high that War 2 will sell millions of tickets per hour once advance booking commences in India.
