Stree 2 Box Office Collection Sets New Records
Stree 2 has set a new record at the box office, with its collection crossing the ₹300 crore mark within five days. The film is performing exceptionally well day by day and is expected to enter the ₹500 crore club very soon. Stree 2 is already the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2024, having surpassed the lifetime box office collection of Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter in just five days. It is anticipated that Stree 2 will cross the Hindi lifetime collection of Kal (Tomorrow’s film), which encompasses 50 days of earnings, in just six or seven days. Made on the lowest budget, Stree 2 has reportedly earned double the combined total collections of all films released this August 15th worldwide. The film is expected to run in cinemas for up to three weeks due to a lack of major releases in the coming days.
Stree 2 garnered ₹9.40 crore net collection from its paid premiere shows on August 14th. On its first day, August 15th, the film took a record-breaking opening of ₹55.40 crore. There was a slight drop in collection on the second day, with India net collection reaching ₹35.30 crore. On its third day (Saturday), the film saw a jump, recording a net collection of ₹45.70 crore. The fourth day (Sunday) witnessed the film’s best earnings, with India net collection higher than the first day at ₹93.50 crore. For its fifth day, Stree 2 is estimated to achieve an India net collection in the range of approximately ₹30 crore.
With these figures, Stree 2’s initial five-day India net collection totals ₹233.50 crore, while the India gross collection stands at ₹275.60 crore. The film has also performed strongly in the overseas market, with an overseas gross collection of ₹38.43 crore to date. Cumulatively, Stree 2’s five-day total worldwide box office collection has reached ₹314.03 crore, crossing the ₹300 crore mark. The film is now confirmed to not stop before the ₹500 crore milestone.
Khel Khel Mein Box Office Performance
Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein has received a positive response compared to his other releases this year. Despite releasing opposite major films like Vedaa and Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein has managed a decent earning on fewer screens. The film’s overall box office collection after five days is considered decent.
Khel Khel Mein opened with ₹5.23 crore on its first day. On the second day, it earned ₹2.42 crore, followed by ₹3.40 crore on the third day. The fourth day, being a Sunday, brought a slight growth in collections, with India net collection reaching ₹4.25 crore. On its fifth day, benefiting from the Rakshabandhan holiday, the film is earning approximately ₹2.80 crore.
The initial five-day India net collection for Khel Khel Mein stands at ₹18.08 crore. The India gross collection is ₹21.50 crore. From the overseas market, the film has earned ₹3.90 crore so far. This brings Khel Khel Mein’s total box office collection for the initial five days to ₹28.40 crore. The film is expected to achieve a respectable final box office collection, potentially outperforming Akshay Kumar’s previous film, Sarfira, in its lifetime earnings.
Vedaa Box Office Update
John Abraham’s film Vedaa had a strong opening at the box office, but significant growth in collections was not observed afterwards. Following its first day, the film’s collections declined on the second and third days. A slight growth was seen on the fourth day, which was a Sunday. On its fifth day, due to the Rakshabandhan holiday, the collections were also better. The film’s true test is expected to begin from the sixth day, as all holidays conclude.
Vedaa commenced its box office run with ₹4.75 crore on its first day. On the second day, it earned ₹1.97 crore, followed by ₹2.50 crore on the third day, and ₹3.92 crore on the fourth day. On its fifth day, Vedaa is earning ₹3.20 crore.
The initial five-day India net collection for Vedaa is ₹16.34 crore, with an India gross collection of ₹19.41 crore. The film has accumulated a total of ₹3.68 crore from overseas markets. Consequently, Vedaa’s five-day worldwide total box office collection has reached ₹23.09 crore. Considering the long five-day holiday weekend, the film’s earnings are noted as quite low.
Double Smart Shankar Box Office Report
Double Smart Shankar is reportedly set to exit cinemas with disappointment, as it did not meet the expectations set by its predecessor, Smart Shankar. Negative reviews have heavily impacted the film’s box office performance. While the first day’s collections were decent, the earnings subsequently declined day by day. The film showed slight growth on Sunday, but collections are anticipated to drop significantly from the sixth day due to the start of working days.
In its initial three days, the all-India net collection across all languages for Double Smart Shankar was ₹14.87 crore. On the fourth day, the film’s earnings were only ₹3.51 crore. On its fifth day, the movie is collecting an India net collection of ₹2.30 crore.
Thus, Double Smart Shankar’s initial five-day India net collection stands at ₹20.68 crore, with an India gross collection of ₹24.40 crore. The film’s five-day worldwide total box office collection is ₹27.30 crore, which is less than 30% of its budget. With working days commencing, Double Smart Shankar is considered a big flop at the box office.
Thangala Worldwide Collections
Thangala’s earnings are notably better than all other South Indian films released this week. The film’s box office collections are expected to remain strong even on weekdays following the weekend.
On its first day, Thangala recorded a worldwide box office collection of ₹26.44 crore. Within three days, the film’s worldwide box office collection reached ₹53.64 crore. On its fourth day, the film earned ₹6.78 crore. On its fifth day, Thangala is earning ₹4.50 crore in the worldwide market.
This brings Thangala’s initial five-day worldwide box office collection to ₹64.92 crore. Expectations are that the film’s lifetime collection could reach either ₹100 crore or ₹150 crore.
Mr Bachchan Box Office Disaster
Ravi Teja’s film Mr Bachchan has completely collapsed at the box office. Despite its release coinciding with August 15th, granting it a four-day weekend and an additional holiday on the fifth day for Rakshabandhan, the collections remained decent only until the fifth day. It is anticipated that the film will completely disappear from the box office starting from the sixth day, as no growth in collections was observed after the first day.
The initial three-day India net collection for Mr Bachchan was ₹8.43 crore. On the fourth day, it earned ₹1.42 crore. On its fifth day, the film is collecting ₹1.20 crore.
Consequently, Mr Bachchan’s initial five-day India net collection stands at ₹11.05 crore. The India gross collection is ₹13.14 crore. The film’s five-day worldwide box office collection has reached ₹15.41 crore. Given its budget, Mr Bachchan has been declared a complete disaster at the box office.
