The Goat Box Office Collection Day 2: Thalapathy Vijay's 'The Greatest Of All Time' Worldwide Earnings

The GOAT Box Office Explosion: Day 1 to Day 3 Collections

Thalapathy Vijay’s film, The GOAT (The Greatest of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu and featuring Prabhu Deva, made a significant impact at the box office. Released on Thursday, September 5th, the film secured an opening of over ₹100 crore on its first day worldwide. This makes it the second film of the year to achieve a ₹100 crore first-day collection. The second day also saw strong collections, with an even bigger jump in earnings on the third day.

The GOAT Hindi Market Performance

The film demonstrated strong earnings in the Hindi market despite no specific promotion, surprising many who believed Thalapathy Vijay’s stardom was limited to the South. The GOAT collected a net of ₹2 crore 80 lakh on its first day from North India across its Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions. The second day saw a slight drop, with net collections of ₹2 crore 55 lakh. However, the third day, a Saturday, brought a slight increase, with net collections approximately in the ₹3 crore range from North India. This brings the total North India net collection for the first three days to ₹8 crore 35 lakh, with a gross collection of ₹9 crore 93 lakh, nearing the ₹10 crore mark.

The GOAT South India and Worldwide Box Office

Beyond the Hindi market, The GOAT also generated strong earnings in South India, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and the Telugu states. Globally, the film’s first-day gross box office collection was ₹126 crore. Its all-India net collection for day one stood at ₹52 crore 30 lakh. The second day experienced a significant drop, with an all-India net collection of ₹26 crore 75 lakh, approximately 50% of the first day’s earnings.

The third day, a Saturday, witnessed growth not just in North India but also in South India, with stronger collections compared to the previous day. As per reports, the film garnered an all-India net collection of ₹32 crore 50 lakh from all five languages on its third day. This brings The GOAT’s total all-India net collection for the first three days to ₹111 crore 60 lakh, with an India gross collection of ₹132 crore 74 lakh. In the overseas market, the film has grossed ₹80 crore 42 lakh. Cumulatively, The Greatest of All Time achieved a worldwide box office collection of ₹213 crore 16 lakh in its first three days across its Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada versions.

Stree 2: Fourth Week Box Office Dominance

Shraddha Kapoor’s horror-comedy film, Stree 2, directed by Amar Kaushik and starring Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi alongside Kapoor, continues its strong run at the box office. Released on August 15th, the film is currently in its fourth week in cinemas, with its daily collections maintaining momentum as if it were a new release. Stree 2 has outperformed many other Bollywood films of 2024, which typically saw their collections drop within 10-12 days.

Stree 2 Breaks Major Records and Comparisons

Stree 2 has already surpassed the lifetime net collections of major films like Pathaan, Gadar 2, and Baahubali 2 in India. It is currently set to challenge Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Hindi version) for the highest India net collection for a Hindi film. Despite its budget of only ₹80 crore and facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa upon release, Stree 2 has achieved remarkable box office success.

Stree 2: Detailed Collections Up to Day 24

The film’s all-India net collection for the initial two weeks was ₹453 crore 60 lakh. In its third week, it added ₹22 crore 83 lakh to its all-India net collection. Despite a reduction in screens during its fourth week due to the release of Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT, Stree 2 collected ₹4 crore 75 lakh on its fourth Friday (day 23). On its 24th day, a Saturday, the film is estimated to earn ₹6 crore 50 lakh, with improved bookings for afternoon, evening, and night shows compared to the previous day.

With these collections, Stree 2’s total all-India net collection for the first 24 days stands at ₹537 crore 68 lakh. The India gross collection reaches ₹634 crore 40 lakh. From the overseas market, the film has garnered a gross of ₹125 crore 82 lakh. Consequently, Stree 2’s worldwide total box office collection for its first 24 days has reached ₹760 crore 28 lakh, surpassing ₹760 crore globally. The film is expected to cross the ₹800 crore mark worldwide in the coming days.
