Tumbbad Re-Release Box Office Performance

The horror film Tumbbad, which originally released in 2018, did not achieve significant box office success at that time. However, following its re-release this week after six years, the film is now experiencing the success it always deserved. Tumbbad is earning double the collections it made during its initial 2018 release this week. Its collections are notably higher than the fresh release, Kareena Kapoor’s The Buckingham Murders, indicating a strong run at the box office with final collections expected to surpass current expectations.

Tumbbad’s re-release has garnered a net collection of ₹7 crore 34 lakh during its initial three-day weekend. The film surprised on its fourth day, a Monday, by earning more than its first day’s collection, with a net total of ₹1 crore 82 lakh. On its fifth day, Tumbbad is reportedly collecting ₹1 crore 60 lakh net, maintaining an occupancy similar to its first day. With this, Tumbbad’s All India Net Collection for its first five days since re-release stands at ₹10 crore 76 lakh, and its India Gross Collection is ₹12 crore 80 lakh. Including both its original and re-release collections, the film has now accumulated a total of ₹28 crore 11 lakh. Against a budget of just ₹15 crore, Tumbbad has been declared a box office hit.

Devara Overseas Advance Booking Report

Jr. NTR’s Pan-India film Devara, directed by Koratala Siva, is set to release on September 27th. With just 9-10 days remaining until its release, the film’s overseas advance bookings are steadily increasing. While India bookings are yet to commence, overseas advance bookings have already opened in Canada and the USA, receiving a decent response. Bookings have also begun in three to four other overseas countries, where the film is witnessing robust advance collections.

Devara’s First Day plus Premiere overseas advance booking has reached $1.80 million, which converts to ₹15 crore 7 lakh in Indian currency. Its four-day weekend overseas advance booking totals $2.50 million, equivalent to ₹20 crore 96 lakh. Overall, the film has already garnered approximately ₹21 crore from overseas advance bookings, despite its release being over a week away.

Stree 2 Continues Strong Box Office Run

Stree 2, an Amar Kaushik directorial, released on August 15th alongside Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. While the latter two films faltered at the box office within a few weeks, Stree 2 is currently in its fifth week, maintaining excellent collections day by day. The film is expected to continue its strong performance into its sixth week.

Stree 2 has already surpassed its ₹80 crore budget with significant collections. The film has become the highest-grossing Hindi film in Indian cinema, breaking the record previously held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan for the highest Hindi net collection. Speculation surrounds whether Stree 2 will achieve a ₹600 crore Hindi net collection.

Regarding its collections, Stree 2 amassed an All India Net Collection of ₹580 crore 18 lakh within its first 32 days. On its 33rd day, the film added ₹3 crore 32 lakh to its India Net Collection. The 34th day collection is estimated at ₹3 crore 10 lakh net, with a slight drop in occupancy compared to the previous day. This brings Stree 2’s total All India Net Collection for 34 days to ₹586 crore 66 lakh, with an India Gross Collection of ₹692 crore 18 lakh. The film has also collected ₹136 crore 43 lakh from the overseas market. Globally, Stree 2’s worldwide box office collection for its first 34 days stands at ₹828 crore 61 lakh. The film is anticipated to cross the ₹850 crore mark worldwide within the next 8-10 days and potentially enter the ₹600 crore club in terms of India Net Collection. However, the release of Devara is expected to reduce Stree 2’s Hindi shows and screens, and reports suggest a potential OTT release on September 27th, which could limit its theatrical run to an additional 8-10 days.

The GOAT Crosses ₹400 Crore Worldwide

Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT (The Greatest Of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu, was a Pan-India release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Despite minimal Hindi promotion and limited screens in the Hindi market, the film’s collections have been record-breaking. Even with mixed to negative reviews upon release, The GOAT recorded massive earnings in its first week. In the second week, despite a reduction in screens due to new releases, the film maintained strong collections. It is now expected to enter the ₹500 crore club.

The GOAT demonstrated a good hold on its 12th and 13th days at the box office. For its first 11 days, The GOAT achieved an All India Net Collection of ₹213 crore 25 lakh across all languages. On its 12th day, a Monday, the film surprised expectations by maintaining a good hold and collecting ₹6 crore 50 lakh net in India. On the 13th day, the film is estimated to collect approximately ₹4 crore 10 lakh net across India. While the film showed a strong hold in Tamil Nadu, collections saw a drop in Telugu States, Karnataka, and Kerala. In the Hindi market, limited screens and lower occupancy also contributed to reduced collections.

The GOAT’s total All India Net Collection for its first 13 days stands at ₹223 crore 85 lakh, with an India Gross Collection of ₹266 crore 38 lakh. From the overseas market, the film has collected ₹149 crore 16 lakh, nearing the ₹150 crore mark. Cumulatively, The GOAT’s worldwide box office collection for its initial 13 days has reached ₹415 crore 54 lakh, combining earnings from all five languages. The film’s final collection remains to be seen, with a target of entering the ₹500 crore club.
