Jawan Box Office Collection: First Day & Lifetime Records
Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawan was released in September 2023, eight months after his film Pathaan. Pathaan, released on January 25, achieved historic earnings at the box office, earning an All Time Blockbuster tag. Following Pathaan‘s success, Jawan took a record-breaking opening at the box office. Its lifetime collection surpassed that of Pathaan, and Jawan currently stands as the highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.
Jawan had a budget of ₹300 crore and was released in three languages: Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film’s first-day India net collection from all three languages was in the range of ₹75 crore. Its first-day India gross collection reached ₹90 crore. In the overseas market, Jawan earned approximately ₹40 crore on its first day. This brought Jawan‘s first-day worldwide gross collection to ₹129.60 crore, roughly ₹130 crore. The film’s lifetime collection exceeded ₹1165 crore, making Jawan an All Time Blockbuster at the box office. Jawan‘s box office earnings, both in India and worldwide, were higher than Pathaan‘s.
Gadar 2 Box Office Performance: Opening Day Details
Gadar 2, the sequel to Gadar, was released in cinemas on August 11, 22 years after the original film. Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 starred Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma. The film was made on a budget of just ₹60 crore.
Despite being released only in Hindi, Gadar 2 recorded significant first-day collections. Its first-day all-India net collection was ₹40 crore, and the film’s first-day India gross collection stood at ₹48 crore. Gadar 2 earned ₹7 crore from the overseas market on its first day. With these figures, Gadar 2‘s first-day worldwide gross collection was ₹55 crore. The film achieved historic collections at the box office, earning much more than its budget.
Tiger 3 Box Office Collection: Day 1 Earnings and Pre-Release Recovery
Salman Khan’s film Tiger 3, directed by Maneesh Sharma and starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi, also featured cameos from Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. The film’s total budget was ₹300 crore. Prior to its release, the makers of Tiger 3 had already recovered over ₹250 crore (₹255 crore) by selling various rights. The digital rights for the film were sold for ₹135 crore to Amazon Prime Video, satellite rights for ₹90 crore, and music rights for ₹30 crore.
Tiger 3 was released on 5500 screens in India and 3500 screens overseas, totaling 9000 screens worldwide. The film was released on Diwali, specifically Lakshmi Pooja day. According to early estimates, Tiger 3‘s first-day India net collection is approximately ₹45 crore. The film’s first-day India gross collection is ₹53.50 crore. From the overseas market, Tiger 3 is earning approximately ₹32 crore on its first day. This brings Tiger 3‘s first-day worldwide gross collection to ₹85.50 crore. Despite releasing on Diwali, Tiger 3 earned ₹85 crore worldwide on its first day.
In terms of opening collections, Tiger 3‘s earnings are less than Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan. However, Tiger 3 is expected to earn more on its second day at the box office than its first day.
